Gain an overview of conservative rehabilitation of TSL cases to restore form and function whilst integrating operative, biological and technical principles and be capable of constructing high quality direct composite restorations in anterior and posterior teeth.
The modern approach to the treatment of Tooth Surface Loss (TSL) is biomimetic, adhesive and minimally invasive. The use of direct composite techniques has proven its potential in creating anatomically correct restorations to achieve long-term successful results both functionally and aesthetically in TSL cases. In this two day hands-on course, Eastman trained specialist prosthodontists and experienced lecturers in composite restorative techniques, James Baker and Akit Patel will provide a logical, simplified and practical approach to rebuilding first anterior, then posterior teeth in a minimally invasive way using direct composite resin restorations. Starting on day one with an update on current bonding, composite restorative materials and the practical aspects of the occlusal management of TSL, they will guide you, step-by-step, using case presentations and hands on exercises. They will show you how to restore the upper anterior teeth at an increased Occlusal Vertical Dimension (OVD) utilising the Dhal concept for localized anterior TSL, or as part of a full mouth reconstruction. On day two, they will walk you through exactly how to restore a posterior segment of TSL using direct composite onlays. Topics covered will include diagnostic prep work, the OVD, deep margin elevation, palatal silicone keys, sectional matrices, anatomical additive technique, the use of brushes & stains to create truly biomimetic restorations and all the tips and tricks.
