E S T A B L I S H M E N T

In 1995, seven graduates of Architecture from the Bandung Institute of Technology set out to build their own architecture practice. HEPTA, the Latin word for seven, was chosen as their studio name. As a young studio, the seven relied on entering competitions to build up their architectural competence. Within a few months HEPTA won three national competitions of various scales, ranging from residential design to extensive urban revitalization. Now, HEPTA brings over 20 years of experience on a broad range of projects including architecture, interior design, and master plans. Architectural projects range from hospitality, office, government, residential building as well as memorial spaces. residential, and memorial.

We believe competitions can push us to strive towards a level of architectural excellence that will benefit us all.

“Nestled in one of the busiest corridors in East Jakarta. Cerita Cafe comes as welcome sanctuary - an oasis - from the hustle of urban life.”

In order to create the atmosphere of an oasis, the building is surrounded by lush and diverse vegetation, placing visitors inside a rich yet simple tropical garden.

The Cafe was designed to create a space for urban dwellers to get together and rest awhile from the daily routines

The plants also help regulate oxygen and bringing down temperature, bringing in cool breezes, aided by the spaces around adjacent buildings which are intentionally left vacant

The North Sumatra district of Humbang Hasandutan is calm, cool, and green, with prime vistas of the natural landscape making it suitable for recreation and rest. The cold climate has made coffee-drinking a favorite pastime among locals, mirroring the recent rising popularity of coffee-drinking in cities This coffee culture informs the overall design and atmosphere of Coffee Hotel. With warm colors, the hotel overlooks the beautiful coffee plantation where the aroma of coffee flows freely and creates a special sensory relationship between interior and exterior.

A neovernacular architectural language dominates the design, evident in the roof design and pilotis. Local Batak motifs called Gorga adorn the faรงade in fractals. A fireplace known as tataring by locals greet visitors in the front lobby. The application of tuning in addition to functioning in the cold temperature is also a unique element of the local environmental culture and a special the characteristic of this design.

Tourism is one primary aspect that has been planned by the government to be developed in Indonesia today and future, include South Sulawesi Province. The site itself is specifically located in Sidenreng Rappang Regency, Jalan Pare Pare – Sidrap is one of the alternative roads that connects Pare Pare and Rappang City in South Sulawesi. Mainly, this road is bypassed by the community, including tourists, from cities in the South Sulawesi Province.

The terms and conditions of this project is to provide an area that has a main function as a resting point for the tourists but also delivers recreational spot for the community around. Water park is one of recreational function that is quiet popular around the people in South Sulawesi. Based on this fact, this Sidenreng Rappang Rest Area also generates water park as a part of its function. Besides, local favorite food, which is made from duck, and the popularity of coffee in Indonesia is also being a part of the rest area as a restaurant and cafĂŠ. The massing of the building in the rest area itself is inspired by the organic shape of duck and these masses is arranged to be a form of group of ducks in a line. Through analytical study, the locality is showed by the selection of material which uses bamboo as its structure coverage. Straw roof is also used to amplify traditional image of the buildings.`

The main issues of the area is parking availability on site. Due to the abundance of tourists bypassed the main road, parking lot is substantial.

S IDRAP R EST AR EA

One strategy of the design is to keep the direct impression as natural as possible for the visitors. The existing area situation which is fully planted by vegetation and climate condition in the Sidenreng Rappang Regency also becomes a consideration for the design of the site. Vegetation that has existed on site is maintained as much as possible to make the designated area has the impression of a forest. The central part of the building is surrounded by a large tent under which could function as a public space, commercial and mall atrium function.
