2. ORGANISATIONAL ENVIRONMENT Hepatitis Victoria is the peak not-for-profit community-based organisation working across the state for people affected by, or at risk of, viral hepatitis. It is governed by an independent Board of Directors with the Chief Executive Officer and staff performing the day to day duties. Hepatitis Victoria works to: • Provide leadership and coordination for the Victorian community response to viral hepatitis; • Build a strong and sustainable organisation that works effectively across all activities and is positioned to have greatest impact; • Raise community awareness and prevent the transmission of viral hepatitis; • Increase access to quality viral hepatitis information, care, treatment and support. 4. POSITION CONTEXT Hepatitis Victoria has received funding to develop a mobile application and is seeking to appoint a project officer to assist in the production of an application and related matters. The Project Officer is accountable to the Marketing, Communications and Online Services Coordinator for managing the successful delivery of a mobile phone application, from inception through to implementation and testing. The position is within the external relations and development section of the organisation. It reflects the commitment of Hepatitis Victoria to increasing the awareness amongst the Victorian community in relation to viral hepatitis. The position reflects the desire for information about hepatitis to be accessible to as many people as possible using a variety of different media, including mobile applications. The position will be responsible for researching, scoping, project managing, testing and delivering the mobile phone application. The Project Officer will work closely with the Marketing, Communications and Online Services Coordinator to achieve this, as well as collaborating with other service delivery staff, management, and potential consumers. 5. KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS 5.1 Research and scoping •

Developing, defining and scoping the mobile phone application (app) project, based on indepth research. This includes outlining goals, user characteristics, device capabilities, networking infrastructure and deployment environment.

Planning, scheduling and managing the app project, including preparing a project plan.

5.2 Contract management

Prepare and manage a tender process to engage app developers.

Manage app developers including responding to enquiries, briefing and managing timelines, budget and delivery.

5.3 Design and testing • •

Collaborate with app developers and colleagues on the design, development, and QA process. Proactively contribute ideas and solutions to the ongoing development and improvement process.

5.4 Promotions and events •

Identify strategies to enlist the support of external people and organisations to assist in testing and promoting the app,

Assist in implementing the app marketing strategy, including identifying online reviewers and media.

5.5 Teamwork •

Work with colleagues to ensure the development of the app is inclusive, functional and relevant to our communities.

Prepare reports on the process with analysis and measurements of outcomes.

Other duties commensurate with the position, as agreed.

5.6 General •

Abide by Hepatitis Victoria’s policies and procedures.

Undertake general administrative duties to support the role.

At all times maintain confidentiality of information about service users, members, staff, volunteers and other personnel.

5. KEY SELECTION CRITERIA Essential •

Experience in Apple iOS and Android development technologies.

Knowledge of mobile and web standards, including design, functionality and interactivity.

Knowledge of current mobile and web tech trends, techniques, and best practices.

Experience in project management and delivering app projects on time and on budget.

Detail-oriented with strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.

Passion for delivering innovative mobile solutions with a collaborative attitude.

Ability to liaise constructively with a range of stakeholders including people with digital expertise, design and marketing expertise, and people affected by chronic illness.

Understanding of online marketing and app launching.

Desirable •

An ability to access a network of media contacts (bloggers, reviewers etc).

The ability to develop an understanding of the complexities of viral hepatitis.

A driver’s licence current for the State of Victoria.
