(NYSE: TXT) company, announced today Type Certification for performance information expansion at up to 22,500 feet density altitude, setting the bar for high altitude operations for aircraft in its class. “The Bell 505 is the most advanced short light single helicopter in the world, and we are proud to bring more performance to our operator’s missions,” said LaShan Bonaparte, program director, Bell 505 and Bell 429. “High-altitude demonstrations are another testament to the aircraft’s ability to perform in the most demanding environments, across a variety of segments.” This spring, the Bell 505 showcased several performance capabilities during a successful high-altitude flight test demonstration in Nepal. Following up Alain Guillou’s press conference at IMDEX, where he disclosed the initial selection of Singaporean SMEs who participated to the initiative, Naval Group organises a plenary session during which SMEs will showcase their innovations and B2B meetings. The event will be broadcast at the Singaporean Embassy in Paris. Start We Up, highlighting the rich Singaporean ecosystem Naval Group is organizing the event Start We Up, which brings together local startups, SME’s and Naval Group technical and commercial experts in order to foster open innovation. This innovation challenge held in Singapore will give visibility to regional startups with deep technology expertise. Selected startups will receive the opportunity to enter a paid Proof-of-Concept negotiation with Naval Group in order to support their innovative initiatives. The innovation challenge Taking place on the 6th of June at Block 71 in Singapore, this event will be divided into a plenary session during which companies will publically present their proposal and B2B meetings with experts. Through this initiative, Naval Group aims to change the traditional view of a linear innovation. Naval Group aspires to replace it with a collaborative, systemic and horizontal logic. Performance clears path for U.S. Navy operational testing Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) and the U.S. Navy completed the final developmental test of the latest generation of the Ship Self Defense System, or SSDS, Integrated Combat System for the USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78). The test was conducted off the coast of California from the Navy's unmanned Self Defense Test Ship simulating a scenario CVN 78 may encounter once deployed. During the raid scenario exercise, two anti-ship missile surrogate targets were located, classified, tracked and engaged using the SSDS Integrated Combat System adapted for CVN 78. "This successful dual-target test demonstrates the maturity of the Ship Self Defense System ICS and paves the way for operational testing to begin," said Mike Fabel, Raytheon's SSDS program manager. "SSDS is a critical capability that enables CVN 78 to defend herself and her crew against current and emerging threats." The Raytheon Ship Self-Defense System ICS includes: • Dual Band Radar: This technology searched for, located and tracked the targets. DBR then provided uplink and radar illumination to the Evolved SeaSparrow Missile to support missile guidance. • Cooperative Engagement Capability, or CEC: The capability validated and processed the Dual Band Radar data for SSDS. CEC is responsible for providing a single, integrated air picture by fusing data from multiple sensors to improve track accuracy. • Ship Self Defense System: SSDS processed the CEC data, classified the targets, determined the appropriate engagement ranges, passed launch commands to the interceptor missiles, and scheduled Dual Band Radar support for the engagements. • Evolved SeaSparrow Missile and Rolling Airframe Missile: Successfully engaged and defeated both targets using live and simulated interceptors. The Ship Self-Defense System ICS for CVN 78 has now successfully engaged three of three targets over the course of its first two test exercises.

Președintele CE a subliniat că această abordare trebuie să continue, în special în ceea ce privește avansarea Cadrului Financiar Multianual și pregătirea Agendei Strategice 2019-2024. Președintele Comisiei Europene, Jean-Claude Juncker, și prim-vicepreședintele Comisiei Europene, Frans Timmermans, au salutat angajamentul Guvernului României de a nu avansa reformele controversate din sistemul judiciar și reluarea imediată a dialogului în cadrul Mecanismului de Cooperare și Verificare, cu scopul de a înregistra progrese în reformele din sistemul judiciar și în lupta împotriva corupției. Cei doi oficiali au reconfirmat angajamentul Comisiei Europene de a lucra în strânsă cooperare cu autoritățile române pentru a găsi soluții în privința aspectelor legate de statul de drept și pentru a relua progresele în cadrul MCV.

The Dassault Aviation stand will be located in Hall 2A, position 251. The display will include mockups of Falcon, Rafale, special-mission Falcon, ATL2, UAVs, future aircraft and space vehicles, accompanied by information panels, video screens and showcases describing our activities. (3) 2. LOOKING FOR A WAY OUT OF A LABOUR MARKET DILEMMA Another area that deserves particular attention is the labour market, at a time when the Romanian one is facing considerable challenges. As a catching-up open economy, within a European Union based on the free movement of capital and labour, our country was bound to find itself in a dilemma sooner or later. More precisely, there are contradictory arguments with regard to the adequate path of the wage level in the Romanian economy. On the one hand, wages should be governed by productivity dynamics, so as not to erode the competitive position. On the other hand, they cannot be considerably below those in other economies, as this would simply result in a labour force drain, with dramatic consequences if not addressed quickly. Specifically, we are facing an emigration problem today, as more than three million Romanians (a significant percentage of the population) have left their homeland for other EU Member States. Therefore, to limit emigration, wages should increase. As noted above, the only way to do that without hindering competitiveness is to boost productivity. Foreign direct investment has helped total factor productivity in recent years, yet if wages reach too high levels, attracting investment may become a problem. We therefore need to ensure that wage levels are compatible with attracting investors, but at the same time acknowledging that, at least in certain areas, wages need to go up at present, in order to mitigate the labour force drain that affects the private and public sectors alike. However, pay rises in the private sector should not be triggered only by an increase in public sector wages. While raising the minimum wage has been necessary, we should be very careful not to hurt employers, as they represent an important engine of the economy. The key is, in my opinion, to increase wages at an adequate, sustainable pace, in order for Romanians to ultimately benefit from an improved living climate reflected in a higher purchasing power, but also from preserved macroeconomic equilibria, as well as higher-quality public goods – especially highways connecting different regions of Romania, but also our country with the West. After all, wages are not the only side of the emigration story.

Aurul spaniol Un caz aparte îl reprezintă aurul spaniol, despre care a vorbit în această sală profesorul Pablo Martin Aceňa. În 1936, timpul în războiului civil, fără să aibă acordul Parlamentului, ministrul spaniol de Finanţe a hotărât trimiterea rezervei de aur a ţarii la Moscova. Operaţiunea a fost supervizată de generalul KGB Orlov. Acesta a arătat în cartea sa de memorii că la numărarea lăzilor, în momentul îmbarcării pentru a fi transportate în URSS, s-a consemnat în procesul-verbal un număr de 7.800 lăzi, când în realitate erau 7.900. Oricum, Stalin ordonase să nu se elibereze nici un fel de document privind preluarea tezaurului. Aurul a fost considerat plată pentru ajutorul internaţionalist acordat guvernului republican de stânga în lupta cu trupele lui Franco. Astăzi, Spania nu mai emite niciun fel de pretenţii asupra aurului respectiv. Prezentarea istoriilor anterioare ne arată că în toate aceste cazuri, mai puţin în cazul aurului spaniol, a fost vorba de rezerve de aur capturate sau evacuate în vreme de război. Oricâte diferende ar fi existat între deţinătorul aurului la un moment dat şi cel căruia îi aparţinea de drept, ele au fost rezolvate prin negocieri şi măcar printr-o despăgubire. Tezaurul BNR rămâne singurul caz în care o rezervă de aur monetar este încredinţată cu documente valide din punct de vedere internaţional (cum se spune de obicei, cu „acte în regulă”) şi cu toate garanţiile depozitarului că va fi returnată oricând la cererea proprietarului, pentru ca ulterior, aceste obligaţii asumate conform tuturor normelor şi cutumelor internaţionale să nu mai fie respectate.
