RTFB--15022-0-91 Carnival Woman with Hat Limited edition of 100 6.25 L. x 15.25 H. $4,850
A woman of mystery, she beckons us with her dramatic hat and yet maintains her distance with the concealed face (perhaps her cockatoo can be enticed to talk?). Of course, this is the allure of the Venetian carnival where the inscrutability of the reveler heightens the drama of participation. Part of the carnival series done by world renown ceramic artist Imre Schrammel, the carnival woman with hat is draped in bouquets of flowers reminiscent of those plucked from a country garden.

VHSP4405688-0-00 Snowy Owl Limited edition of 200 4 L. x 9.25 H. $1,950
With the snow tempering all other sounds, only the wind can be heard whistling through the wide, open spaces that this snowy owl likes to call home. A patient hunter, this female or immature male (based on the markings) thinks nothing of spending hours perched on a fence post waiting for its next meal. Contrary to most of their cousins on the family tree, snowy owls are active during the day and take full advantage of the long days of an arctic summer to feed on lemmings, their favorite food, and other small mammals.
While diminutive members of the animal kingdom would therefore not consider themselves a fan, there is much to admire in this new figurine from the artists at Herend. From the owl’s catlike yellow eyes to its defining salt-andpepper pattern created through alternating layers of gray and platinum fishnet, the snowy owl makes a dramatic debut as part of the Reserve Collection.

VHSP4305524-0-00 Musicians of Bremen Limited edition of 175 7.75”L. x 9.5” H. $1,995
In 1953, the town fathers of Bremen, Germany erected a bronze statue by Gerhard Marcks to honor their native “sons”; specifically, the donkey, dog, cat and rooster from the Brothers Grimm’s tale “The Musicians of Bremen”. In the intervening years, the front hoofs of the donkey in the statue have been buffed to a high gloss from all of the visitors who believe their wishes will come true by touching them. Upon hearing this, the artists at Herend became inspired to create an all-metallic fishnet version of the famous quartet. Displaying copper, gold and platinum in a
striking combination, the animals seem to come alive within their metallic skins via their natural eye coloration which imbues the figurine with a warm, expectant energy (of course, the animals’ state of anticipation is also because we have caught them at a dramatic point in the famous story).
