POSTER MAKING
COMPETITION Competition Brief You have been asked to develop a Poster for any selected reputable fashion brand as per your choice to communicate how it supports gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow as a part of its awareness campaign to recognise the contribution of women and girls around the world, who are leading the charge on climate change adaptation, mitigation, and response, to build a more sustainable future for all. The poster should reflect the sub-themes around the core theme for International Women’s day which include (but are not limited to) female representation & participation in public life, economic empowerment, equality, women’s rights, health, and gender based violence.
You will submit 1 x Mood board A3 size and 1 x Final Poster Design A3 size (the submission is digital) 1. Create a mood board showcasing your style/handwriting with your inspiration and incorporating the works of the women that inspire you. 2. What are you trying to pitch/ or what is your message? Whom are you trying to reach/ or who is your target audience? 3. Please consider selecting suitable poster design choices, that include composition, colour, feeling, graphics, line, shape, texture, typography, space, balance, contrast, visual hierarchy to communicate your idea clearly. 4. The images used on your poster should be created using either your own photography or artworks created from existing artworks that you have collaged or blended.
Guidelines The competition is open for high school students in grades 12th and 13th Once the brand identity & message is determined, it should inform all the subsequent design choices from color to logo to tone To enter send in your full name, school, grade, and phone number along with your competition submission and send them to sotd-dubai@hw.ac.uk Winners will be announced by the mid April 2022
Important Notes -Strictly no group entries. Only individual submissions shall be accepted. -The work MUST be made by yourself. -The submissions shall be judged on interesting use of the prescribed colour palette and design concept. -No work can be accepted after the 5th April deadline. -The University reserves the right to use photographs and videos of submitted work and participants for social media and print purposes. -The judge’s decision is final and not debatable.
