As we turn the calendar to July it looks like we are going to have our first real stretch of summer weather. At least for a few days we will have highs approaching 90 and lows staying in the 70’s We will be closely monitoring the turf throughout the golf course and make the appropriate adjustments to mowing heights and frequency and irrigation schedules The one thing you will notice for sure is an increased presence of the grounds staff on the golf course watering throughout the day. As the turf starts to stress from heat we will be out hand watering with hoses
Please do not hit into staff members hand watering greens. When you approach a green with someone watering please give them time to complete what they are doing before hitting into the green. They should only be there for a few minutes and will do their best to avoid interfering with golf as much as possible When the weather gets intense, waiting for a gap in play to water or cool a green can do significant damage to the green. Thank you in advance for your consideration with this matter
