A message from your Grounds Superintendent, Scott Olson

Many of you have commented on the new wild flower garden we put in along the cart path behind the 8th green. Although I wish it looked a little better right now I have been very happy with the results and we are looking at more areas around the golf course to put in more. From what I have read it takes 23 years for wild flower areas to mature so I am hoping that in the future we will see season long color in those areas. have had few people ask about the process and what mix we used We used a Northeast Wildflower Mix that was purchased from Site One Landscape Supply.

Last August we cut the area we wanted to seed down and killed the existing vegetation with a non-selective herbicide We sprayed the area a second time in September and then seeded the area with the wild flower mix in October After that we left it alone and let nature take over If you would like more information on putting in your own wildflower garden please let me know
