GOLF
The golf course continues to recover from the stress of a brutal summer. Seed in the fairways is emerging and starting to fill in the voids. The roughs around the fairways and the intermediate cut were aerified and overseeded last week and should start to fill quickly as well. The rest of this week we will be focusing on aerifying and overseeding the tee to fairways carries and the cart path ends around the golf course. The staff has also started to cut down some of the native areas that still have weeds in them and need to be overseeded.
The 19th greens has made a lot of progress over the past couple weeks. We have started working the cutting heights back down and expect to open it back up before Columbus Day.
This is what is planned for the month of October. We will be aerifying, topdressing, and overseeding approaches on October 3rd and 4th. Starting on October 17th we will be starting aerifying fairways. All fairways will be core aerified and overseeded as needed. Nothing further is planned for greens until November 10th and 11th. We are scheduled to Drill and Fill on those dates.
