It’s hard to believe that 2022 is coming to an end and that 2023 is right around the corner. It’s been an incredible year for Heritage Golf Group as we have added 13 new properties to the portfolio and are now at 28 clubs (check out heritagegolfgroup.com for all the details).

In June, Palmetto Hall Golf and Country Club was acquired, and Rob Ciapanna was promoted from F&B Director at Port Royal Golf and Country Club to General Manager at Palmetto Hall. Congrats, Rob!

Most recently, Savannah Quarters Country Club in Pooler, GA, joined the family, which is a great 18-hole private club with a world-class aquatics complex, tennis, and fitness. Russ Bisbe has been a member of the Shipyard maintenance team since July 2021 He loves the game of golf and has been in the golf industry most of his career Russ was born in Virginia but grew up in Delaware

H s a US Marine from 79’-81’ and w n Beaufort in the avionics division Russ began his golf career in 1981 as a PGA class A asst golf professional, ironically at Shipyard Golf Club! He worked at Shipyard from 81’-86’ before switching gears and pursuing a career in horticulture. He received a degree in horticulture from Valencia college and began working in golf maintenance and in landscape Russ went to work in Oklahoma City as a landscape manager and oversaw the landscaping for over 100 schools in OKC He switched gears again and began working in golf course maintenance He has 25 years of maintenance experience at many different clubs around the country and locally, including Long Cove, Sun City, Palmetto Hall, and Shipyard. In his free time, Russ enjoys playing golf, cold drinks, and watching his favorite football team. the Washington Commanders He has two children, Brett and Taylor, both in Ft Meyers, FL Russ is a key part of our golf maintenance team, and we are proud to award Russ with an employee of the month!

Carter Hemphill has been named the Shipyard October 2022 Employee of the Month! He was previously employed with the company in the past and has recently rejoined during the busy Fall season Carter willingly stepped up and took on additional as needed ranger shifts His attention to detail, course visibility, and excellent guest relations truly made a difference in the length of rounds and thereby player satisfaction

PORT ROYAL SAFETY COMMITTEE

There was a meeting of the Port Royal Safety Committee on 9 27 22 The focus of discussion was on identifying potential hazards around the property and what we as a company can do to remedy or mitigate those potential hazards.

AMBASSADOR COMMITTEE

1 Parker made mention that the company objectives were to enhance the employee experience mainly through improvements to workspace, recognition opportunities, and the planning of events

2 Parker asked Kevin to make it known within his facility and department heads of the committee’s existence and their representation on it Also, take notice of positive accomplishments, seek out the input of co-workers, listen for employee comments, and be on the lookout for areas we can make improvements Compensation and personal issues were to be avoided and instead be directed to be shared with their supervisor

3 Parker mentioned that a monthly employee lunch was to be instituted and committed to All departments are to be included Kevin spoke that breakfast would work better for the maintenance staff and a one morning/one lunch schedule was agreed upon November will be target month to start at Oyster

4 The Employee of the Month concept and subsequent nominees were mentioned and Parker asked Kevin to work with department heads for potential candidates for October and November 2022 and to consider how to recognize Employee of Month for the next meeting

5 Parker requested Kevin bring ideas for possible Quarterly employee events to the next meeting Initial suggestions ranged from Volleyball/Softball/Kickball games to use of the Hilton Head Rec Center Off campus activities were considered as well A possible fall golf outing was discussed Kevin will relay possible dates

Parker toured Kevin on the Port Royal Employee of the Month calendar and Kevin noted they had not the same at Oyster Reef Kevin photographed the board and will request same from Kaitlyn
