Welcome Welcome to the 2015–2016 Heritage Music Press choral release! When I look back on my thirty-year career in public school music, I can’t help but be reminded of some of the most rewarding and fulfilling moments of my professional life, the same way I’m sure that each one of you can point to similar experiences. These moments are the reasons why we teach and why we can’t help but to create and instill within our students the same level of excitement, joy, and purpose that music has brought to our own lives. As I prepared to bring the very best music to my students and to ensure that effective, teachable moments factored into my decision-making process, the one activity that I always looked forward to before the opening of school was selecting and ordering new music, often a time-consuming task with the increasing number of new titles coming to the marketplace each year. As you scan these pages, you will notice that our 2015–2016 listing of new releases displays an eclectic mix of writers and styles, with even more individual titles than you are no doubt used to seeing. We’ve tried to help cut down the time needed to discover all of this new music by organizing titles in an easy-to-use listing by voicing (General titles appear first in each category, followed by holiday titles). Full performances may also be found on the four included CDs, coordinated with the catalog listings. Please also be aware of the multiple voicings available for many of these titles. Our commitment to providing the very best in educational choral music throughout the past decades has never wavered. Features of this Resource Two-part Recording Artists We were privileged to work with the Kettering Children’s Choir (Ohio), under the direction of Mark Jauss, and the Cincinnati Children’s Choir (Ohio), under the direction of Robyn Lana and Alex Gartner, as recording artists for the 2015–2016 Heritage Music Press two-part recordings.
