About This Guide

The 2020-2021 Southeast Georgia Healthcare Guide™ (SGHCG) is the most comprehensive directory of healthcare providers in the region. For more than two decades of publication, we are proud to present this publication to the Southeastern Georgia community. Within the pages of this book, you will find articles dedicated to keeping the medical community informed about advances in medicine, legislative changes and healthcare issues. Telehealth is revolutionizing the healthcare industry, especially in these times of social distancing, and beginning on page 3, you will find information on telehealth and how it is growing and developing. On page 6, you will find information on Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) including guidance and tips to keep your practice up to date and compliant. Pages 8 through 10 are dedicated to the Southeast Georgia Health System, with information about procedures that are improving lives throughout the region. You can find information on cutting edge technology used in Southeast Georgia starting on page 11. We have included healthcare legislation on page 13. Due to recent events, the Georgia General Assembly suspended the legislative session indefinitely after March 13, 2020. With this change, the healthcare legislation section provides bills relating to healthcare that have not been passed. Page 18 continues with requirements and licensure renewals for medical and dental professionals. Our Green Pages™ section is a comprehensive, easy-to-read directory. The Green Pages include alphabetical listings on all area physicians with references to page numbers, as well as listings of physicians by specialty. Also included are area hospitals and ancillary healthcare providers and services. The listings include National Provider Identifier (NPI) numbers, if available, for further convenience. Our goal is to present the most current information in our publication. Our Data Specialists have researched and verified the listings through July 2020.
