Many residents on the First Coast want to continue their education with college, university or technical school. No matter your interest, there are many options on the First Coast for your educational needs.

Conservative Theological University www.conservative.edu

Conservative Theological University offers various courses of study from undergraduate to graduate levels. Degrees can be completed on a part- or full-time program and even remotely. The university focuses on Biblical education and is a member of the Florida Council of Private Colleges.

Edward Waters University www.ewc.edu

Edward Waters University (EWU) is the first Historically Black College in the state of Florida and was established in 1866. As an independent institution of higher learning, it offers a Christian curriculum that engages students in learning. Students can pick from eight bachelor’s degree programs including Criminal Justice, Communications, Business Administration, Social and Behavioral Sciences, and Science and Mathematics.

Students looking for technical or career education can explore toprated programs in St. Johns County at First Coast Technical College. With two locations in St. Augustine, a variety of programs are offered including early childhood education, human services and law, hospitality and tourism, health sciences, agriculture and more.

Flagler College www.flagler.edu

Flagler College, once a hotel, has offered an exceptional private education in historic St. Augustine for more than 50 years. The college provides a “challenging, inclusive, and supportive academic community” and is committed to preserving the history of Hotel Ponce de León. There are nearly 70 programs of study within the School of Business, Education and Mathematics, the School of Creative Arts and Letters, and the School of Humanities and Science.

Many First Coast residents are interested in flying, but don’t know where to start. The Florida Aviation Career Training, Inc. (FACT) is the premier choice for aviation training, aircraft rental or brushing up on skills for experienced pilots. This school provides students with the knowledge, comfort and skills to work towards the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) exams and well as one-on-one training for each individual.

Florida Coastal School of Law www.fcsl.edu

Florida Coastal School of Law was founded in 1996 and has been known as one of the best law schools for practical training from The National Jurist magazine. Coastal Law has received the INSIGHT Into Diversity Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award as the school is 40 percent more diverse than others found in the legal profession. The school also has rolling admissions and offers an accelerated two-year JD program.

With eight campuses as well as administrative offices, an Urban Resource Center and Advanced Technology Center, Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ) allows for students to choose locations throughout the city. Students can earn associate degrees, bachelor’s degrees, technical certificates and

more. Some of these degrees include arts, humanities, communication and design, business, education, health sciences, public safety, industry, manufacturing and construction, science, technology, engineering and mathematics, social and behavioral sciences and human services.

For more than 30 years, the Jacksonville Theological Seminary has been committed to offering students education and training for religious vocations and ministry work. The seminary offers graduate degrees including doctorate and Ph.D. programs. With locations in Orange Park, Palatka and St. Augustine, St. Johns River State College provides an allencompassing education for those 16 and older. The college is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) for associate and bachelor’s degrees. High school students can receive college credit with their early college program and adults can expand their education with continuing education programs.

For more than 40 years, Trinity Baptist College has provided students with an education in biblical studies to prepare students for ministry. The college also offers liberal arts degree programs, graduate studies, and general and professional studies.

University of North Florida www.unf.edu

Located conveniently between the beaches and downtown, the University of North Florida (UNF), focuses on student success with more than 4,000 students graduating yearly. Six colleges within the university are available for students, including the Brooks College of Health, the Coggin College of Business, the College of Arts and Science, the College of Computing, Engineering and Construction, the College of Education and Human Services and the Hicks Honors College.

University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences www.usa.edu

Graduate programs in the College of Health Sciences and Administration, the School of Nursing and College of Rehabilitative Sciences are offered at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences.
