Advocacy & Advocacy Hotline One of the most important roles of the medical society is to advocate on your behalf and keep track of the hundreds of bills introduced in Tallahassee every year that will have an impact on the delivery of healthcare in Florida. We monitor these bills so you don’t have to. Members receive timely updates on developments during Florida Legislative Session and throughout the year through our weekly E-newsletter and online legislative blog at dcmsonline.org/news. However, we know that some bills move quickly and have specific importance to your practice. That’s why we’ve developed the DCMS Advocacy Hotline. Simply call 813-215- 7140 to speak with DCMS Chief Executive Officer Fraser Cobbe directly regarding your questions and concerns. Most inquiries can be answered within 24 hours.

DCMS Career Center

Whether you are looking to expand your practice or looking to make a move, the DCMS Career Center is your access to the top medical job board in the country. Posting a resume is free. Life After Residency Conference

Duval County is home to more than 400 medical residents every year. While these young physicians are working hard every day learning to practice medicine, the most common request we hear is for education about what happens AFTER residency. The Life After Residency program is a one-day seminar focusing on showing residents the best way to transition to life after their program ends. Topics include finding the perfect job, negotiating the perfect contract, and managing student loan debt. This program is FREE for resident and fellow members of the DCMS. The next Life After Residency Conference will take place in Spring 2021.

Membership Directory

The DCMS partnership with the Jacksonville & Northeast Florida Healthcare Guide provides special recognition for DCMS members in the annual directory. This year, the healthcare guide is also acknowledging members who participate in Telehealth. DCMS members are also included in the Online DCMS Membership Directory at dcmsonline.org. Leadership Academy

The DCMS has a long history of physician leadership, from the Florida Medical Association to the World Medical Association, from pioneering private practices to hospital executives. We are committed to ensuring that the next generation of physician leaders also has a strong Duval County representation. The DCMS Leadership Academy is a program designed to give physicians the leadership skills necessary to be more effective employees, employers, Board members, and community leaders. Looking for a local venue to present that case study? DCMS Resident and Fellow Members can submit posters for the judged DCMS Future of Healthcare Conference poster presentation.
