Terra catapults us back to a pre-digital age; a wild and raw world of abundant natural resources treated with care.
This resolutely pure way of living is rare in our modern world. We sometimes rediscover it through isolated ancient tribes, taking inspiration from their deep-rooted, spiritual connection to the earth. This connection between people and nature is literally tangible when raw clay is transformed to create a masterpiece. The result of this artisanal process reflects the brutal, untamed essence of our earth and forms the basis for the designs in the Terra collection. The sculpted and moulded forms seem to have been born from the earth, authentic, unrefined and without formal perfection.
Clay, sand, earth and stone not only serve as a basis for the designs, but also form the building blocks for the rich colour palette in this collection. Deep, natural shades like clay and rusty orange, a muted colour scheme of burnt earth, charcoal, manganese and terracotta, interrupted by splashes of intense colours like sunshine yellow, fondant pink, cobalt blue and moss green. Colours of the earth, that have us daydreaming about the raw and unpolished charm of our planet.
But the emphasis on the importance of our planet in this collection goes beyond aesthetics alone. Masureel has consciously chosen to select materials and implement production processes with a lower impact on the environment. We choose to create products and design spaces that are in balance with nature and have a positive impact on both people and planet.

The MIRI motif forms the basis of this collection and symbolises the robust structure of the earth, the rawness of natural clay.
The GUINEA design sets a scene of guinea fowl scratching and flapping their wings against a background of clay. They stand out, but in an aesthetically pleasing way, bringing a touch of humour.

Primitive vases with structure are what the HEMIA motif is all about. A wonderful balance between the matt texture of the clay and the gloss of the glaze, between the rough and the smooth.

In TASOS , the vases are only suggestive, silhouettes distorted and jumbled up to create a minimalist pattern.
The drawing for TEHANI is also a reassembled structure, based on a collection of delicate, handmade beads.
