Here in The Bahamas, we saw an immediate and steady rise in sales since the US presidential election of 2016. In May 2017, The Bahamas also elected a new government to office. The current administration is business minded - committed to fiscal responsibility, determined to growing the economy and engendering public trust. Local and international buyers have the peace of mind to invest in The Bahamas. With strong sales across the board, we expect a continued growth in the Bahamas’ real estate market. Sectors of communities in New Providence are reaching a point where all available properties are being sold, and quickly, leaving little in the market. This growing trend is increasing real estate values and shifting the real estate market from a buyer’s market to a seller’s market. The market is steady throughout the islands of Eleuthera, Abaco and Exuma. Our hottest areas, however, are Nassau/Paradise Island, Treasure Cay and Elbow Cay in Abaco, and Harbour Island, just off the northeast coast of Eleuthera.
Grand Bahama is taking an upward turn and creative investments are coming to the island. The Ginn property is now under contract with plans to redevelop the project. Our southern islands, including Long Island and Cat Island, continue to have slower markets, but great deals are available. They remain incredibly beautiful and quiet places to vacation and live, while experiencing the true meaning of island life, deserted white-sand beaches and natural beauty.
