June 2010

Dear Parent(s) and Candidate for Graduation: Attached is a copy of our “Graduation Information Bulletin.” The bulletin contains important information and outlines your responsibilities in preparing for our 32nd Commencement Program. Graduation will take place on Sunday, June 27, 2010 at 12:00 noon at the Eugene Orloff Auditorium which is located at High School East. The seating capacity of the auditorium is limited; therefore, each senior will receive four (4) admission tickets. Tickets will be distributed to each candidate at graduation rehearsal which is scheduled for Thursday, June 24, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Rehearsal will be held in the gymnasium at High School West. After the rehearsal the PTSA will be hosting a luncheon for all graduates. Please be advised that you must call my office at 631-592-3209 to request a reservation if you will need to use seats in our HANDICAPPED area. In addition, if you have any other questions or concerns please contact my office as soon as possible. Graduation from high school is a ceremony which comes only once in a person’s lifetime. I have planned to make the ceremony meaningful and memorable. I encourage you as parents to impress upon your graduate the dignity and honor of this occasion. Finally, any end of the year pranks will not be tolerated. Any student involved in, having knowledge of, or not reporting a prank will be disciplined accordingly. For seniors the consequences could be denial of attendance to the prom and our graduation ceremony. I am asking your assistance in stressing the importance following school rules for the remainder of the school year. I look forward to greeting you on graduation day. Sincerely,

Debra Intorcia Principal /js

To the Class of 2010 and Families, We would like to continue the tradition of putting together a montage to be shown at graduation consisting of pictures of the senior class from kindergarten through the present. To this end, we are seeking photographs of all seniors, individually or in groups, to be used in the montage. Digital pictures can be emailed to gbits@optonline.net. Photos can also be left in a box in the main office. Please note, however, that we are unable to return any photos submitted. If you need the photo back, I suggest scanning and emailing same. Pictures can be of students in school, at after school activities or at private functions - we ask, however, that only this year’s seniors be in the photo. Please be sure to identify each person. The names should be written on the back of the photo or sent in the email for those forwarded electronically. We will be accepting photos until June 1st but would appreciate receiving them as soon as possible. Your participation and cooperation are greatly appreciated. Sincerely,

Gina Raio Bitsimis Past President, HSW PTSA
