OCTOBER AES Engineers Scholarship Our belief is that achieving a high grade point average should not be the only criteria for determining who deserves to be helped. For that reason we are offering a scholarship that will be awarded on the basis of character, as determined by an evaluation of the essays that are submitted. Scholarships are intended for our future leaders across a wide spectrum of fields of study. This award is available to high school seniors and all students attending a post secondary educational facility. You are not required to be taking Engineering courses to be eligible. National Eagle Scout Association Scholarship There are three types of Eagle Scholarships: academic, merit, and field study. Type 1: Academic scholarships ● Academic scholarships weigh academic performance, school and Scouting participation, and financial need. ● Academic scholarships include a range of scholarships, up to four $25,000 scholarships (payable at $6,250 per year for four years) one $48,000 scholarship (payable at up to $12,000 per year for four years) and a $50,000 STEM scholarship for an Eagle Scout planning to major in a science, technology, engineering, or math field. ● Eligibility ● Score a minimum 1290 SAT or an ACT score of at least 28. ● Must apply during senior year of high school. The Voice of Democracy Program: Veterans of Foreign Wars of the U.S. The Voice of Democracy Program is open to students in grades 9-12 who are enrolled in a public, private or parochial high school or home study program in the United States and its territories. Cancer Survivors’ Fund Scholarship: Cancer Survivors’ Fund Cancer Survivors' Fund is a non-profit organization chartered exclusively for charitable purposes; specifically to provide college scholarships and prosthetics for the benefit of persons diagnosed with cancer, receiving treatment for cancer or in remission to give them a new purpose and meaning in life. Halfmann, a 1998 graduate of Half Hollow Hills High School West and an active member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Dix Hills, NY, passed away on December 28, 2000.
