Site Analysis

Zoning

Youth in Sudan face the problems of poverty and unemployment, some of it due to un matching between job market and demand. The proposed vocational center ought to give opportunities to the general public and to land decent job and help reduce poverty . The concept is to create a contemporary industrial design, yet to respect and make use of the local and traditional architecture in the surrounding achieved by the use of local materials use of exposed steel structure to reflect the modern and industrial character, create a dialogue between modern industrial architecture that reflect the function while respecting the context and creating a building that the locals can belong to.

Concept Diagram

also The design seeks to achieve Sustainability through flexible design, the use of greenery, natrural ventelation, the use of double roof to avoid the direct heat from the sun , and solar panels can be placed over it. Local Materials and techniques are applied to lower the cost and support local small business.

MAZZAD MIXED USE BUILDING

The proposed project came from close analysis to the surrounding urban fabric, suggesting mixed-use buliding to interduce different uses and different user and to be alive at all times. Al mazzad mixed used building consist of commercial purposes small unites rented for different consumers, in the level of ground floor to keep the edge of the street active. While the others floors will be a mix between apartments with different sizes to consider different needed and financial states and offices, to keep the building active all day and contribute positively in the surrounding urban fabric. The design was inspired by the Habitat 67 in canada, designing units of varying sizes and configurations. yet designed to fit the context and represent the archituctural units and materials used in the traditional sudanese house.
