Business incubation at the CfHS ACHIEVE BUSINESS SUCCESS AT THE CENTRE FOR HEALTH SCIENCE (CfHS) Developed by Highland and Islands Enterprise, The CfHS, adjacent to the Inverness Campus, is the only business incubator building in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland dedicated to life science and health related businesses. Whether you are starting up a new and innovative idea, expanding or looking to relocate your business, the Centre for Health Science has the flexibility to meet your needs. Standard Unit: can be designed to your own specification, office or lab. 2 2 Units vary in size from 20m to 70m and lease terms are negotiable. Virtual Office*: offers access to a serviced, shared and furnished office for a minimum term of six months. Hot Desk* (rent-a-desk): offers access to a desk within a furnished office and can be rented for as little as half a day. *These options offer access to facilities, infrastructure, meeting rooms and business development support that larger, established companies benefit from but without the need to commit to large

premises and lengthy lease terms Both options are flexible with wifi internet access, reception, utilities and business rates at an all-inclusive cost. Lying at the heart of Inverness’ medical cluster the Centre is colocated with the district general hospital, Raigmore, LifeScan Scotland Ltd (a J & J company)

and Maggie’s Highland offering access to leading health and clinical life science facilities. It is directly connected to the Inverness Campus by pedestrian and cycle bridge. Business incubation is available on the first and second floors of the CfHS. A total of ~480 sq m is currently available, individual company requirements can be accommodated by a variety of options both for office, research and development and laboratory space.

The Centre for Health Science has the modern facilities to meet a variety of needs including training, conference, exhibitions and other events. The Centre can offer a wide range of facilities that are flexible, versatile and adaptable and excellent customer care is provided on site by the Centre management team. Rooms are well equipped with audio visual technology and can be set up to meet your individual requirements. RESEARCH One of the key aims of the Centre for Health Science was to build upon the health science research activity in the region which is encouraged through collaboration, knowledge transfer, improved clinical outcomes, publications and commercialisation.

Since the first phase of the Centre was opened in 2006 over 70 research projects have taken place attracting over £6m of funding, working with a wide range of partners including University of Edinburgh, University of Aberdeen, Glasgow School of Art, NHS Highland and NHS Education for Scotland. There are always opportunities for collaborative research projects in the Centre for Health Science, in particular in the areas of: • • • • • •

diabetes genetics telehealthcare and digital medicine rural health lipidomics clinical trials
