The Time I Ran Away

by Andrew Altman This is the story of the one time I ran away. The first thing you need to know is where I was. I was in Ashville, North Carolina. Next, you need to know the people that were there. My Grandpa on my mom’s side, my Grandma on my mom’s side, my older sister, and my mom. I was nine years old at the time. I was mad at my grandpa, mom, and sister, but I forgot why.

Now you need to know what I packed. I packed a toothbrush, but no toothpaste, a blanket, a pillow, $50, my iPad, three changes of clothes, a slingshot, and an extra jacket. I ran all the way down the street which was half a mile. I was gone for about an hour and fifteen minutes, and then I ran back because I was hungry. I will never run away again.

My Christmas

by Ingrid Bongers This Christmas, I went on a cruise to Mexico. On the first day, we surprised my friend that we were coming on the cruise with them. One of the places we stopped at was Costa Maya, Mexico. There I got to snorkel with some huge sea turtles, and wade with the baby sea turtles. The days that we just cruised, I went on the water slides that went off the ship, and I went boogie boarding. The second stop that we stopped at was Cozumel, Mexico. When we were there, I went swimming with dolphins. It was so much fun to interact with them and to be around such nice creatures. That night we had a big New Year’s Eve party on the ship. It was so much fun when it was midnight and all of the balloons came down for the countdown. I had a great trip, and I hope that I can do it again!

Orlando, Florida

by Eidan Berry I went to Orlando, Florida, with my cousins, parents, and my grandma. We all went to Universal Studios, Magic Kingdom, and the Animal Kingdom. For my birthday, we went to ESPN. There were five bedrooms and four bathrooms in the house where we were staying. At Animal Kingdom, I went on a safari ride and got to see a lot of animals there and learned some facts about them. My mom and my cousin went on a scary roller coaster called the Rip Ride Rocket. For my other cousin’s 5th birthday, we went to the Rainforest Cafe. My bigger cousin didn’t want to go on the Rock and Roll Roller Coaster, but she did since that was my first ride with a loop de loop in it. It was really dark, but I felt it! The only thing I didn’t like about it was how it took off. Later, we went on the 4D virtual Avatar ride. The line was 3 hours long, so we skipped the line using the Fast Pass. It was one of my favorite rides! Back when we first got to Orlando, my mom and I picked up the car, then went to Walmart and spent $300 on food! Last, I went to the house to drop off the food there. My mom and I picked everybody up at 12pm. They had a longer flight than us because they all live in New York. The last day, my dad came to spend a little time with us. He drove us home - everybody left at 4am! I loved Spring Break!

My Crazy Weekend

by Claire Rodts Over the weekend, I went to the farm! At the farm, there were bulls, cows, and the meanest donkey. He will charge you, kick the bulls and cows, and stare you down - you name it! When we rode on the range to feed the animals, every cow and the one donkey crowded my Dad. Then we gave them their food, but they didn’t eat it. We left as fast as possible because we gave them the wrong food. They came sprinting toward us! Even the donkey! I drove across the range, and we found the cows and donkeys some food. The End!

My Bedroom

by Prakhar Saxena Today I’m going to describe my bedroom, which is my favorite room. First of all, my wall color is kind of beige. I have only 2 windows in my room, and they are on my sister’s side. The rest of my walls are blank with no pictures. Next, I’m going to describe my desk in my bedroom. My desk is in between my sister’s side and my side. It has some books on it, sometimes my iPad on it, and some other things. Now I’m going to describe my bed and my closet. The headboard of my bed is not really a headboard. It has shelves where I keep my old stuffed animals. My closet is a walk-in closet and has all my old school stuff and clothes. Across from that I have my bookshelf, which has all the books that I’ve finished and my yearbooks. This is why my bedroom is my favorite room.

BFG

by Jack Deltrap If I got one of the BFG’s “Golden Phizzwizards” dream, this is what it would be like:

I was in my bedroom sleeping and then I woke up. I saw a weird ring on my nightstand, so I decided I was going to wear it. As soon as I touched it, I went “Poof!” and was transported to an underwater city. I went exploring around a little, then I found a giant underwater temple. I went in but there were deadly lasers. I hopped around ALL of the lasers, then I found THE MOST PRICELESS JEWEL IN THE WORLD! So I went to go steal it, and it was a success. Then magically a portal appeared in the temple. Then I got transported into my room, and I woke up.

That would be my dream!
