The Challenger is a mid range sleeping bag which starts from 1- 2 season (average temperature 5° to 15ºC) up to 4 season rated (freezing to -5°C) . A mummy style sleeping bag with a wind resistant polyester rip-stop fabric shell and polyester lining. The Challanger range have a polyester 3D Microfibre starting at 100gsm for the lightest bag all the way to 400gsm for the heaviest bag. Highlander has been supporting Children for Cancer UK for a number of years through staff fund raising and taking part in challenges.

As Highlander has grown as a company and in particular on the military side of the business its support for charities has evolved.

In November 2011, 6 staff members plunged towards the cold waters of the River Garry from the Highland Fling bungee jump platform. The platform sits under the Garry Bridge and is some 40 metres (131 feet) above the Pass of Killiecrankie at a site known as Soldierâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s Leap. The team all jumped scared out of their wits and raised an astonishing ÂŁ2000! Thanks to all those who supported us!

HIGHLANDER & THE BLACK WATCH MUSEUM When people think of Highlander, they often conjure up an image of strong, fit for purpose military equipment. HISTORY OF THE BLACK WATCH REGIMENT The Black Watch Regiment is one of the British Army’s, if not the world’s, most famous fighting units. Along the way, The Black Watch collected an incredible 164 battle honours, 14 VCs and a reputation that places the Regiment in a category of its own. However, as part of the Government’s 2006 reorganisation of the Army, The Black Watch lost its Regimental status and became a Battalion within the new Royal Regiment of Scotland. Nevertheless, The Black Watch remains a force to be reckoned with in the British Army, serving in its latest theatre of war in Afghanistan currently.

Balhousie THE BLACK WATCH HERITAGE APPEAL The Black Watch Heritage Appeal was launched in September 2008. Its aim was to raise in excess of £3.2 million to provide a permanent and improved home for the Museum and archive in Perth, the historic centre of the Regimental recruiting area. The Trust plans to extend on the existing Castle and redevelop the Museum. See the Black Watch website for further details.
