T hr ee bodies found

T
he Lydenburg SAPS was overwhelmed this weekend to find three badly decomposed bodies on one day.
A man was found near Mashishing in the river, close to the SAPS Dog Unit. A part of his body was still sticking out of the water. It may be possible that he drowned during the floods in January. A woman (about 30 years) was found in the bushes of the Sterkspruit-area outside Lydenburg on Saturday. People in the area alerted the police. In another incident the police were told that a young woman (about 25 years, also badly decomposed, was found in the Spekboom-area, on the Ohrigstad Road. She was covered in plastic and a blanket of some kind was thrown over her. The police have urged the public to open cases for missing people and to contact the SAPS if they have any information. To help the police with these investigations phone 013 235 2222.

Me. Engilic Victoria Monnia Thompson (20), beter bekend as Angel (foto verskaf).
Haar ander broer is Vrydag in Johannesburg gearresteer.
Me.

Mpumalanga becoming just like Limpopo
Concern over high number of housebreakings in Lydenburg The community of Lydenburg and surrounding areas are warned to always be alert and follow the following safety tips, as housebreaking is now rife in this area: • Always close windows and lock doors whenever they leave their houses, or go to sleep. • Before you hire someone (e.g. gardener etc) you must first screen the person, so that you know the person’s residential address and other important information. • To refrain from hanging car and house keys on the kitchen wall, because housebreakers find it easily and can then access things (including vehicles) more easily. • To avoid leaving house keys under the door mat or under stones near the door. • To activate the alarm system whenever you leave the house or go to sleep. • To report suspicious people in your neighbourhood, your neighbour’s yard or house. Crime affects all of us, help the police to combat crime. Should anybody suspect any crime or criminal activity please contact Lydenburg Police at 013 235 2222/ 2223. For other information please contact Const P. G. Ramodike: 078 457 3317. ~ Michelle Boshoff
Wasted millions, bad financial management and poor service delivery are not the monopoly of the embattled Limpopo provincial government -- they have spread south of the Olifants River into Mpumalanga. Although the situation in Mpumalanga is not as bad as that in Limpopo, audit reports, investigations and the current budget all show how Mpumalanga's civil servants are coining it from government contracts worth at least R8.2-million in two departments alone, while R130-million was diverted from infrastructure spending to pay for salaries and other provincial and local government expenses this year. "The entire provincial administration is on a disastrous collision course which could result in widespread governance collapse if not addressed urgently," warned Democratic Alliance provincial leader Anthony Benadie. The DA has asked public protector Thuli Madonsela to investigate what it said was R2.9-billion of public money that was misspent by the provincial and local governments in Mpumalanga. But the national treasury does not agree. It believes Mpumalanga runs a tight ship with a positive budget balance. "In the case of Mpumalanga, the province has been running positive cash balances throughout," said treasury spokesperson Bulelwa Boqwana last week. However, the provincial departments' own annual reports and the auditor general's latest audits paint a different picture. The Mpumalanga government spent R535-million irregularly in the past financial year, unauthorised expenditure amounted to R84-million and R3.4-million was wasted. Auditor general Terence Nombembe's audits of Mpumalanga indicated serious problems: · Civil servants held a majority of government contracts in most departments without declaring their interests in the companies, when awarded the tenders; · Some employees were moonlighting without permission; · Contracts above the value of R500 000 were awarded without being put out to tender and some goods and services worth less than R500 000 were procured without getting three quotations, as the law requires; and · R241-million of movable tangible capital assets disappeared from Mpumalanga's health department in one year. When the auditor general tried to assess the departments' service delivery performances he found that most of their information was "deficient" and he could not establish the validity, accuracy or completeness of the information presented. A total of 37% of the health department's reported targets were not valid, accurate and complete based on the evidence provided. About the education department's 2010-2011 financial year audit the auditor general said: "The validity of 88% of the reported targets could not be established because relevant source documentation could not be provided." He also found that most of the heads of department did not prevent irregular expenditure. Premier David Mabuza has suspended only one Head Of Department, Johnson Mahlangu, who was in charge of Health. But the treasury did not believe Mpumalanga was in the same boat as Limpopo. "Mpumalanga is not a section 100 case," said Boqwana. (continues on page 5)

'n Ou slap handjie is tog so askies-tog-dat-ekleef en 'n vinger-vergruisende-handdruk weer 'n ander pynlike uiterste.

Bring by elke ding politiek in. Sies man!

Sies man!

Mpumalanga becoming just like Limpopo continues: From page 3: Section 100 of the Constitution was used by the government last month to intervene in Limpopo. It states: "When a province cannot or does not fulfil an executive obligation in terms of legislation or the Constitution, the national executive may intervene." Derek Luyt, advocacy head of the Public Service Accountability Monitor, said the government should also use this section to ensure that service delivery was efficient. "Section 100 is not a choice but a duty and a responsibility of the national government to ensure it delivers on its electoral mandate. The failure of letting provinces like Limpopo deteriorate so far must be placed on national and provincial governments. Why didn't the national department pick up on these things in Limpopo before it got so bad?" In Mpumalanga, a recent auditor general audit of 30 infrastructure projects worth R250-million highlighted: Poor planning that resulted in unused and underutilised completed infrastructure; · Procurement systems that were not consistently applied, resulting in compromised transparency, accountability and economy; and · Project management that was ineffective, resulting in projects that were not completed on time, compromised quality and rocketing costs. David Nkambule, spokesperson for Mpumalanga's Public Works, Roads and Transport department, said last week that all maintenance work, except in emergencies, had been placed on hold. The Department had also "slowed down on construction and rescheduled start dates for newly awarded projects". Several Departments have withdrawn tenders in the past month. Late last year the MEC in charge of Finance, Pinky Phosa, cut the Health Department's infrastructure expenditure by almost
R70-million. The Department of Education's infrastructure budget was slashed by R48million. According to the current adjusted budget estimates, the majority of the cuts in the Health Department went to prevent "overspending on compensation of employees". "It is a tragedy," said Neville Gurry, Chief Executive of the South African Federation of Civil Engineering Contractors. "There are numerous reasons for this, but one of the biggest contributing factors was the lack of capacity and expertise in government departments to both implement new projects and maintain existing infrastructure." Gurry said the adjustment of provincial infrastructure budgets created further service delivery problems for communities because municipalities were failing to spend their infrastructure budgets at grassroots levels. He said municipalities across South Africa had underspent on their infrastructure projects by R12.4-billion in the past financial year alone. Mpumalanga Finance Department spokesperson Letshela Jonas said Phosa and the Provincial Legislature were still committed to improving the province's infrastructure. "The changing environment requires the government to constantly review its performance with a view to respond to the changing needs of society and ensure qualitative delivery. This has to be done within the available means and in accordance with all applicable regulations and prescribed governance processes." Last month Mpumalanga's treasury confirmed that the Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs Department had overdrawn its account by R2-million. "Most of the provincial departments in the province do not have overdrawn accounts. Only the Department of Co-operative Governance and
Traditional Affairs had an overdrawn account due to an administrative communication challenge," Jonas said. He said the departments were not allowed to overdraw their bank accounts, but could not explain how Co-operative Governance had been able to do so. Jonas said the interest incurred on overdrawn bank accounts was treated as fruitless and wasteful expenditure in terms of the Public Finance Management Act. According to the Act, fruitless and wasteful expenditure should be "recoverable if liability is determined, or written off". Electricity and phones were cut off so often that the agency's operations had almost come to a standstill. Also last year, the provincial Education Department was hauled before the select committee on public accounts for failing to recover R22-million worth of assets, after top officials admitted they had hired a matriculant to manage the Department's assets. This came after Head Of Department, Mahlasedi Mhlabane, failed to account for assets that had not been registered in the Department's name. Mhlabane blamed an unnamed official, who has since been removed from the position. "The man who was in charge of asset management has been transferred to the Human Resource Department, where he is dealing with learnerships," Mhlabane said at the time. The committee criticised Mhlabane for the move, asking how the official was expected to mentor trainees when he had failed to manage assets. Mhlabane said the Department had hired private accounting firm Pricewaterhouse Coopers to train officials in asset management. The committee also said the Department had not registered assets belonging to its parastatal, the Mpumalanga Regional Training Trust. The Mpumalanga Economic Growth Agency has
yet to explain more than R268-million in loans that the Auditor General found had not been recorded properly. The Agency is tasked with bringing new investment to the province and providing financial and mentoring support to emerging businesses with local links. The Auditor General found that the agency had budgeted to provide R12-million in finance to businesses during the 2010-2011 financial year, but had given out R35.9-million in loans. It was also found that only 67 of the planned 300 businesses were helped with funding. The Parastatal's executive manager, Anton Scheepers, told the legislature that "all the loans were recorded on different spreadsheets but could not be reconciled". According to the Auditor General's 2010-2011 report, the Agency cost the taxpayer R5-million because it failed to pay its taxes on time. The Parastatal also incurred R23-million in fruitless and wasteful expenditure by failing to pay the Development Bank of Southern Africa on time. (source: internet www.mg.co.za).

Hops Hollow goes vintage on Valentine's! Valentine's Dinner at the Hops Hollow Brewery on the Longtom Pass was truly an affair to remember. Stepping back in time with vintage stars Marilyn Monroe, Elvis, James Dean and Audrey Hepburn, guests were “crooned” into an era where love and romance ruled supreme. Newly appointed manager of Hops Hollow, Kallie Schoeman, hosted an evening with music, dining and wine that offered the best of this bygone era. “Hops Hollow offers the ideal setting for themed dinners and special events” says Kallie. “Apart from our traditional buffet and a la carte pub menu's, we plan on offering something different and exciting to our local as well as international guests.” The next exciting themed dinner party at Hops Hollow, a Moroccan evening, will be hosted on Saturday, 25 February. Bookings essential: Kallie Schoeman on 072 456 2694 / 013 235 8910.
Shave or spray for Shavathon 2012 The Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) invites all South Africans to join them in celebrating by taking part in its 9th annual Shavathon. “You can help everyone who has ever been touched by cancer by registering your workplace today and ordering supplies to host your own Shavathon event during the 1st and 2nd of March or participate at one of the public events on the 3rd of March,” says Rachel Wa l l , C A N S A ' s C h i e f B u s i n e s s Development Officer. Last year 250 shopping centres and 220 workplaces helped raise R7.1 million for CANSA's support services. This year internationally acclaimed music band, Freshlyground, has pledged their support of CANSA by giving CANSA rights to use their music in the radio and TV ads to promote CANSA Shavathon. Longtom Marathon will start at sunrise on 31 March for the 25th time Longtom Marathon celebrates 25 Years A boost for businesses and the community
A
t sunrise on Saturday, 31 March 2012 an historic event will unfold in the foothills and along the crest of the majestic Drakensberg mountains, between Sabie and Lydenburg, as the Longtom Marathon celebrates its 25th Ultra and Half Marathon events. The 25th anniversary race celebrates the unique lifespan of one of South Africa's prestige road running events. The Longtom Marathon has consistently been rated amongst the top 5 road races in South Africa for the past seven years. The latest 5 year ratings announced in 2010 ranked the Longtom Ultra Marathon as the 2nd best race overall in South Africa for the period 2005 – 2010 (The Comrades Marathon took 1st place honours). The Longtom Ultra Marathon is historically popular as a qualifying race for Comrades. Many international and local professional runners run the Longtom Ultra and stay on in the area until Comrades to train in the high altitude terrain of Lydenburg and Dullstroom. Since its inception 25 years ago the Longtom Marathon has become one of the most highly rated and toughest ultra marathons' in the world. “Arrangements are well underway to host yet another world class event, despite the fact that the Longtom Marathon will once again be hosted without the financial assistance of a title sponsor. The 2011 event was hosted under extreme financial constraints after the withdrawal of the title sponsor of the previous 5 years, but remained a tremendous success mainly due to the support of the business community of the greater Thaba Chweu area, by means of water point hosting, logistical assistance and / or financial sponsorship”, said Loma van der Walt, race director of the Longtom Marathon. The success of the event, as well as the growth of the event over the past 5 years has led to the invitation of the (IAU) International Association of Ultra Runners for accreditation of the event. This is a prestige nomination awarded to only the best rated ultra marathons worldwide. Acquiring an IAU Label brings the benefit of international marketing of the event via the IAU newsletters and races. The IAU label also provides a guarantee to participants that the event is well staged and organised. Coca-Cola Fortune (Powerade) remains the largest secondary sponsor of the 2012
Longtom Marathons, with Tubatse Chrome, SAMANCOR Eastern Chrome Mines, Assmang Chrome Dwarsrivier Mine, ASA Metals (Sinosteel), Coastal Hire, REMAX, Kruger Construction, Debonairs, Fish Aways and Larami SPUR as major financial and logistical contributors. Local businesses from corporates to SMME's annually compete for water points and logistical support from local business entities has always been tremendous. Participants in the Ultra and Half Marathon will receive a special 25th anniversary medal as well as the much sought after race shirts which has become a trademark of the Longtom Marathon. A family fun day is planned at the finish venue with a food market and adventure activities such as a hot air balloon, parachutists, jumping castles and other kids' entertainment. Various professional athletes will attend the event as VIP guest participants, including previous Longtom Marathon record holders. A number of national media representatives and well known editorial and sports commentators will be rendering media coverage to the event. SABC 2 television coverage of the event has been secured, awaiting sponsorship. “The Longtom Marathon is a national sporting event and both the South African running fraternity and our Longtom athletes are serious about this road race that has been voted the 2nd best marathon in the country. The Longtom Marathon is not just another road race, it is the embodiment of a dream race which was born 25 years ago and has since grown into a legacy. It is hosted and guarded with the same passion that drives so many athletes to take on the mountain year after year. The 25th anniversary race will honour this commitment with the same passion,” said Leon van der Nest, chairperson of the Longtom Trust. “We would like to extend an open invitation to all interested parties who would like to become part of the 25th Longtom Marathon event to contact us as soon as possible” said Van der Nest. To become part of this annual prestige road running event by means of sponsorship, logistical support or the hosting of a water point, please contact the race office on 012 346 2400 or Loma van der Walt on 082 557 9604.

Fitness is very important for miners THE physical fitness of workers at mines is contributing to hours of safe operation. Mining companies are well aware that healthy and fit workers are safer workers and better able to avoid accidents. In this section we would like to refer to the relationship between physical fitness and the safety of drivers at our mines. Job demands are well known and recorded, and the job fitness of many thousands of workers are stored and maintained on a database. Fitness test after injury: Fears of abuse of fitness testing procedures are irrational, and stand in the way of a good risk assessment and injury prevention system. Employers should apply testing consistently to get full benefit for themselves and workers. (Tia-Mari Hoffmann) Miners older and wiser: SA miners are now at an average age of 42, having gradually increased in the last decades. Average risk profiles to employers and employees have changed, due to factors like fitness, ergonomic exposure, fatigue, and diabetes. Maturity offers some drawbacks, and several advantages to employers, including safety advantages based on maturity. (Dr Tutula Balfour-Kaipa) Nutrition raises stamina: New mining recruits show a low fitness test pass rate of around 10%, but the rate improves dramatically after taking food supplements. Poor diet makes recruits prone to fatigue, but their stamina could easily be improved, allowing job fitness to develop.
(William Taylor) Epidemics factors: Silicosis, tuberculosis, and HIV / AIDS, could be managed by managing five epidemic factors. Unemployment and related sedentary lifestyle, related to poor nutrition and lack of exercise, is one of these five factors. (Tia-Mari Hoffmann) Look for the unexpected: Unintentional blindness causes workplace risks when workers become accustomed to expected conditions, and fail to see unexpected conditions. About 25% of unusual occurrences go unnoticed during routine work. The best studied example is in aircraft simulators, where pilots fail to see aircraft obstructing the runway for landing, while non-pilots spot the unusual obstacle. (Dr Ewan Sellers, AEL) Ask for a second opinion: Check with a colleague. Miners tapping walls for acoustic checking by tap bar, listen out for thuds, indicating loose rock, instead of pings for solid rock. A second opinion could save lives and compensate for wandering awareness. The value of a second opinion is considered so highly, that a supplier is developing an electronic 'helmet ear' to confirm or contradict human assessment. The device beeps once for a safe ping, and twice for an unsafe thud. Two heads are better than one.

Bi Annual Stakeholder Breakfast for Dwarsrivier Chrome Mine STAKEHOLDERS and senior members of the Sekhukhune and Greater Tubatse Municipalities attended the Dwarsrivier Mine Assmang Chrome’s breakfast. It was held on 15 February at Didingwe River Lodge. Mr Francois Uys, General Manager of Dwarsrivier Chrome Mine, said: “as senior manager of this mine it is important that I share with members of a broader society what is happening on the mine and how the mine plans to respond to social challenges. I wish to emphasize that all our stakeholders are important to this organisation and so are the people on whose behalf we are having this function. I am particularly proud of the new enterprise opportunities that we have unlocked over the past 18 months for our
local communities. The holding of hands between Local Government and other sector departments can only make the future brighter. The appointment of the Project Manager for Key Focus areas (water, roads electrification and human resources development) will unlock development potential in this region. This is as a result of us working and engaging even when the chips are down.” Dwarsrivier is an Assmang operation that is managed by African Rainbow Minerals and Assore. Some of the points on the agenda were charities who were donated to in 2011, infrastructure development, employment strategy, job creation, underground road infrastructure, waste rock crushing project, employee transportation and road transport of ore.

Teater-lekker in Lydenburg News from Smokey Hills
AUSTRALIA (PLA) is hoping for a fresh start after a share price plunge of around 90% in 2011, announcing on Thursday it would from now on conduct its own operations at the Smokey Hills mine. JIC Mining Services is the current contract miner, having taken over from Redpath Mining late 2010. According to PLA, the transition process should be completed by endFebruary. The decision to move to owner operator is the result of extensive planning and evaluation work completed over a number of months to determine the most effective operational model for the Smokey Hills mine,” read a company statement. “PLA believes it will be in a stronger position to meet its production targets and will benefit from cost savings of 10% to 15% over the next three months, with the removal of a number of duplicated management positions and the contractors' overheads and profit. “There is expected to be minimal disruption to production during the transition and no significant additional expenditure will be required. PLA said it planned to retain all sub contractors on the site, while the employees of JIC would be offered continuity of employment under their existing contracts. STAYING AFLOAT: PLA raised A$3.6m in December through a rights issue at $0.08 per share, after an attempt to in $4.4m at $0.12 per share had failed. The company traded at $0.85 in January 2011. PLA's woes stem largely from the non-performance of Smokey Hills, which was supposed to have ramped up to its nameplate capacity of 60,000 tonnes per month by June 2011. It had achieved just over half of this endSeptember. A quick count shows the mine lost some 20-odd production days in 2011 due to labour disputes, an incident in which a mining contractor got killed by an angry mob and a Section 93 closure issued by the Department of Mineral Resources. In addition, JIC fired around 75% of the workforce in February, causing a further delay in ramping up output. Managing director John Lewins told Miningmx on Thursday Smokey Hills achieved between 65% and 70% of its output target in December, and was aiming to achieve full volume during the June-quarter of this year. He said the money raised would be sufficient to keep PLA afloat until such time. “The 60,000oz will generate a substantial income, even at the current (platinum) prices,” Lewins said. “It obviously helps that the rand is trading lower.” Asked how the business plans to regain the confidence of the market, Lewins said the successful ramp-up of Smokey Hills was of the greatest importance.“Our priority is to get Smokey Hills performing,” he said. “It's very clear Smokey Hills has to deliver to its potential.” *source: www.miningmx.com

Motor van die jaar kompetisie
4x4 Veldrywerk
- Hyundai se Elantra is ’n besliste gunsteling.
Waar jy so 2 ure aan 8 km ry. Dit is 4km/u! Hier volg so ’n paar wenke om jou viertrekvoertuig te geniet. • Maak seker jou bande is teen so 2 bar gepomp in die bos.
Audi se A6 is ’n fantastiese ryding. Alfa Romeo Giulietta 1.4 MultiAir Distinctive.
2. Audi A6 3.0 TDI quattro S-tronic.
3. Citroën DS4 1.6 THP 200.
4. Ford Focus 2.0 TDCi Trend Powershift.
5. Hyundai Elantra 1.8 GLS.
6. Kia Picanto 1.2 EX.
7. Mercedes-Benz SLK 350 BleEfficiency.
8. Peugeot 5008 Active 2.0 HDi.

New Toyota Avanza coming THE first-generation Toyota Avanza was a pioneering "no-frills" compact MPV that delivered exactly what it promised on the box – it got as many people as possible from one place to another in reasonable comfort. However, the all-new Avanza which will go on sale in South Africa from February 6, 2012, has upped the ante considerably by going big on style, space and comfort. Toyota says it's kept the virtues of the outgoing model seven seats, compact body and "excellent value for money" - but the entire package now has: • A dynamic new design, inside and out, with an enhanced sense of quality. • Better comfort. • More storage capacity, especially when all seats are occupied. • Better safety specs. • Improved ride comfort and handling stability thanks to a new suspension. • Lower fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. Sales and marketing man Calvyn Hamman said: “The Avanza, with its three-row configuration and price, has virtually no competitors among compact MPV's. This all-new, second-generation model has much more style, refinement and comfort so we are confident it will be even more favourably received than its predecessor.”
fuel and aircon is more efficient. This, Toyota says, together with a myriad other minute improvements has combined to realise substantial accelerative performance and fuel economy enhancements (see table). Engine changes - at a glance: • The four-cylinder 1.5 and 1.3 engines with "intelligent" variable valvetiming have been carried over and, Toyota says, "maintain a combination of high performance, fuel economy and environmental performance". • A resonator has been added to the air-cleaner hose to reduce engine booming at high engine speeds. • A five-speed manual transmission is standard but a four-speed auto transmission has been introduced to the SX model and its 1.5 engine with hydraulic electronic control to manage smooth shifts and acceleration. A lock-up is said to reduce power-loss associated with torque-converter slip and maintain fuel efficiency. PRICES Avanza 1.3 S – R155 900
Avanza 1.3 SX – R168 800
Avanza 1.5 SX – R175 500
Avanza 1.5 SX AT – R189 600
Avanza 1.5 TX – R202 200 All models are delivered with a four-year or 60 000km service plan and a three-year or 100 000km warranty. Service intervals 15 000km. Wheels24.co.za
The Avanza is 20mm longer and 25mm wider overall but looks even bigger thanks to longer windows designed to appear to be one piece of glass. A touch of "muscularity", Toyota says, has been added with flared wheel arches and a curved character line. Body-colour door releases are standard and the S and SX models have 14" steel rims with white plastic caps. The more upmarket TX rolls on15" alloys. The new Toyota face - a "snout" bearing the Toyota logo first seen on the new Yaris - has been added and the grille is body-coloured across the range except for the flagship TX which has chrome mouldings and front fog lights. The tail door, Toyota says, "flares out from the licence plate" to add another "muscularity" touch and a tail spoiler bearing a third brake light and rear chromed "garnish strip" also distinguish the TX. The cabin ambiance now leans more towards "car" than "wagon", emphasised by a lower instrument panel and a central cluster housing air vents, audio controls and ventilation controls. Paint chrome have been replaced on the fascia and doors by glossy and matt surfaces and luggage volume has grown despite the three rows of seats; and no, Toyota says, leg and knee room is still good. How? • A lighter seat design. • Door trim has been increased by 10mm to, Toyota says, "create a sense of spaciousness". • The front-seat backs are thinner to increase second-row knee space by 20mm. • The second-row seat backs are 10mm thinner to add knee space for third-row passengers. • A slide (SX and TX) has been added to the second-row seat (60mm backward) to allow expansion of its foot space along with a onetouch tumble feature which, with the seat slide, makes third-row access easier. • The thirdrow seat has been moved forward by 10mm and the tail door trim moved rearward by eight millimetres to extend the luggage floor by 18mm. The entry-level S version has anti-lock brakes, remote-control central locking, break-in alarm and immobiliser, electric power-steering (tilt-adjustable), power windows, two front air bags and lots of oddments storage. SX units add colour-coded power external mirrors, aircon and the adjustable second-row seats. The flagship TX tops-off things with a four-speaker sound system adjustable from the steering wheel, a USB/auxiliary/iPod port and a dual-zone auto aircon with vents directing air to the rear passengers. The 1.3- and 1.5-litre petrol engines and transmission are essentially carried over from the firstgeneration but the vehicle bodies are 20kg lighter, aerodynamics are better, low r o l l i n g resistance tyres and electric powers t e e r i n g demand less h

Is the Astra sedan coming? Nissan Z facelifted OUR spy photographers snapped Opel’s latest model undergoing testing – the new Astra sedan.
SEEMS like Nissan had trouble deciding whether it wanted to update its 370Z.
The new model, though camouflaged sports a larger rear mimicking the Insignia.
Answer to the dilemma? Give it such a subtle facelift that only the keenest of observers will notice the difference.
You can see from our spy pics that the front has been left unchanged. The new model will be presented at the Paris Motor Show later in 2012.
So here is the 2013 Nissan Z-car, which Nissan unveiled at the Chicago Auto Show last week.
Motoring.co.za
The biggest visual alteration is a new front bumper with vertically stacked LED daytime running lights and Nissan has also subtly restyled the rear facia with a red reflector and thrown in a new set of 18-inch alloy wheels for good measure. Buyers opting for the Sport Package, meanwhile, can look forward to a new set of 19-inch alloys as well as stiffer shocks and red-coloured brake callipers. Ta l k i n g c o l o u r, Nissan is offering two new colour choices in the form of Magma Red and Midnight Blue. However the power hungry will be sad to note that Nissan has not done any tinkering under the bonnet, the f a m i l i a r 245kW/363N m 3.7-litre V6

continuing in current form, mated to either six-speed manual or sevenspeed automatic gearbox. Certain markets, however, do get to indulge in a Nismo option, packing a modified 261kW motor and beefed up suspension. While it's inevitable that the new 370Z Coupe and Roadster will reach our market, Nissan South Africa's spokesperson says that an announcement on its availability has yet to be made. IolMotoring.

Remme is baie goed. Hierdie bakkie is ’n wenner! Andre Coetzee.
