Impact of fraud stated in forensic report On Wednesday 25 April there was a meeting in Sabie where all the councilors of Thaba Chweu, including Executive Mayor Selina Mashigo-Sekgobela were instructed by the ANC Bushbuckridge (Bohlabela) to fire Municipal Manager Patrick Kgoale. According to all the community members (and complaints to the Highlands Panorama News by readers), Thaba Chweu has been embroiled in a sick circle of fraud and corruption. No one is being held accountable for this. Also bear in mind that this is a municipality that has received only negative feedback for ten years without being held accountable. The forensic report is divided into 11 stages. The forensic report has been leaked but it has not been officially tabled by the Council due to the refusal by the ANC Bohlabela region. This report mentions R359 million that was involved in fraud. This is in addition to the R400 million owed to Eskom. That makes the municipalities debt and overall financial crises double. As result of the political interference in Thaba Chweu, the Mashishing Civic Coalition feels that there is nothing they can do, but to embark on a peaceful march. It will include a petition strictly to President Cyril Ramaphosa.
“The ANC Bushbuck Ridge does not want to forensic report to be published and don’t want its implications to be known. Suspension of those people involved including those that were implicated by the forensic report may result after the report becomes known. There are approximately 21 stakeholders in this initiative to protest against the madness and the state of affairs in TCM. This is due to the political interference by the ANC Bushbuckridge region” according to Mr Joel (Pompies) Letwaba. The ANC Bushbuckridge is against the release of the report to the public including the findings of the report, due to the following reasons: 1. Those implicated are close to the top leadership of the ANC Bohlabela region, their families and friends. They want to protect them. 2. People with knowledge about the fraud and forensic report are demanding protection from the very same municipality where they are implicated in fraud. 3. ONS ry uit die aard van ons koerantwerk nogal baie rond tussen Lydenburg, Nelspruit, Burgersfort en Steelpoort. Wat baie duidelik is, is dat Lydenburg se strate by verre die swakste van almal is. Ons dorp se strate raak by die dag meer onrybaar. Steelpoort s’n is effe beter en Nelspruit se strate is goed. Verbasend is die werk wat in Burgersfort gedoen word. Ten spyte van mal verkeer, is hulle strate uitstekend en waar daar gewerk word is dit nie ’n kruiwa en spitgraaf lappie operasie soos hier by ons (wanneer dit wel gebeur) nie. Slegte strate word geheel en al oorgebou en behoorlik geteer. Duidelik is die Tubatse Munisipaliteit veel beter as hierdie gesukkel van TCM. Ek het verlede week ook opgemerk dat die Olifantspoortjie pad vanaf Steelpoort tot by die R37 uiteindelik aandag kry. Hierdie is egter ’n Limpopo Departementele aksie en dit lyk ook maar na ’n kruiwa en spitgraaf kontrak. Intussen is SANRAL besig om die stryd op die R37 oor die Longtompas te verloor. Hierdie pad verswak nou weekliks a.g.v. die swaar vragmotorverkeer. Die 12 kilometer vanaf Kudu Ranch na Lydenburg val ook sleg uitmekaar. Wat Lydenburg betref, is die ingange vanaf Burgersfort en Dullstroom (R36) nou heel in hulle moer in. So ook die kruisings van Viljoen en Kerk en Viljoen en Voortrekker. Thaba Chweu sal moet wakker word en vinnig ook. Hulle is ’n skande vir ons dorp.

FORD has revealed its new Ranger Wildtrak X derivative in Europe, handing the double-cab bakkie distinctive external styling features that scream “Raptor-lite”. For starters, the new Wildtrak X is offered in the “Performance Blue” metallic paint worn by the Ranger Raptor. In addition, items such as the front grille, sports bar, roof rails, side-steps, alloy wheels and Wildtrak decals gain a black finish. The standard “roll-and-lock” load-bed cover is also finished in black. Inside, you’ll find leather seats in (you guessed it) black, with contrast stitching in “River Rock” grey. Ford says the new Wildtrak X will be offered in double-cab form only, powered by the Ranger’s familiar 3,2-litre, five-cylinder turbodiesel engine (147 kW/470 N.m), mated exclusively to a six-speed automatic transmission and 4×4 driveline. It’s not yet clear whether Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa will consider offering this new derivative to local buyers. carmag.co.za

NISSAN has revealed its new Navara Off-Roader AT32 double-cab pick-up, partnering with the folks over at Arctic Trucks to create what the Japanese brand bills as “the most capable Navara ever”. The upgraded bakkie’s standard features include a bespoke suspension system that hikes ride height by 20 mm (to 243 mm), full protection of key underbody components (engine, transmission, propshaft and fuel tank) and chunky offroad tyres. The 2,3-litre turbodiesel engine, however, remains unchanged. Optional extras, meanwhile, include a snorkel (to improve wading depth some 200 mm to 800 mm) and a front differential lock. Nissan says the suspension kit improves the Navara’s maximum approach angle to 35° (from 30,4°) and breakover angle to 24° (up from 22,2°). Overall vehicle height increases by 40 mm thanks to the suspension and larger tyres. You’ll also likely notice the Off-Roader AT32’s wheel arch extensions, which Nissan says were designed to “amplify the new taller stance” and offer greater protection of the bodywork during offroading. The 17-inch alloys are in-house items from Arctic Trucks, while the 32-inch tyres wrapped around them apparently “improve off-road traction while maintaining excellent on-road performance”. In February 2018, Nissan applied to trademark the “Navara Off-Roader” moniker with the European Union Intellectual Property Office, leading to speculation that the brand was planning a rival for the Ford Ranger Raptor. carmag.co.za

Kaartjies vir die Sappi Moedersdagkonsert is reeds te koop by Computicket en kos R85 vir volwassenes, R45 vir pensioenarisse en laerskoolkinders, terwyl voorskoolse kinders gratis toegang het.
