RESIDENCE LIFE AT HIGH POINT UNIVERSITY At High Point University, Student Life encourages student development and empowers students by creating a strong sense of self, both in the classroom and in the residential environment. Every national study of academic success supports the position that a residential campus environment enhances student development and encourages continuation and graduation from college. We are committed to a positive and nurturing living experience. Our door is always open to our students when there are concerns or issues that need a positive resolution.
COMPREHENSIVE FEE: The university is aware that the cost of a college education is significant and makes every effort to keep its charges as reasonable as possible, while still providing a first-class college education. Listed below is the comprehensive fee associated with attending High Point University for the 2015-2016 academic year. There are certain amenities and conveniences that are common among all of the residence halls at High Point University. They are as follows: • Study lounges are available on every floor. • The entire HPU campus is a wireless Internet environment. In addition to Internet access, all rooms are wired for cable TV. • There are complimentary laundry facilities located in each residence hall. • All residence halls are air-conditioned. • Residence halls are locked 24 hours a day. Each resident is provided with electronic key card access to the exterior entrances and exits of his/her assigned building. • Each student is provided with a standard twin-size bed and mattress (University Center II includes a full-size bed and mattress), dresser, desk and chair. Students may request a twin XL mattress through the Office of Student Life.

UNIVERSITY CENTER II University Center II, which is co-ed, features double and single room options, both including luxurious furniture with full-size beds and built-in shelves, mirrored armoires for hanging clothes and storage, a media chest, chest of drawers and a coat closet.
University Center II residents share an adjoining bathroom (four students per bathroom), with a granite vanity, two sinks, generous storage space and private restroom.
Students housed in the University Center II will have convenient access to all the amenities in the R.G. Wanek Center, including the 200-seat Extraordinaire Cinema, The Point Sports Grill, 1924 PRIME Steakhouse, the arcade, Great Day Bakery, HPU Farmers Market, Starbucks and many secluded areas to study including the Learning Commons. This first-class, 275,000 sq. ft. facility gives students plenty of quiet space to study and relax outside of the classroom.

YORK HALL-HONORS SCHOLAR PROGRAM RESIDENCE HALL York Hall is an apartment-style residence hall arranged in two, three and four bedroom units with a private bedroom for each student. Each apartment features a furnished living and dining room and a kitchen with a full-sized refrigerator, a built-in microwave and a two-burner stovetop.
York Hall apartments feature one or two bathrooms. The bathrooms all have large vanity areas and well lit showers. Apartments with two and three bedrooms share one bathroom, while apartments with four bedrooms have two bathrooms.
Only freshmen accepted into the Honors Scholar Program will have the option of living in York Hall. York Hall will not appear on the initial housing application, but honors students will still need to fill out this application. A separate Honors Scholar housing application will also be available to these students later in the year. Honors Scholar amenities include personal study areas, a Faculty-In-Residence, as well as 24-hour quiet hours creating an environment where students can continually focus on their academic endeavors.

BLESSING HALL Blessing Hall is an apartment-style residence hall arranged in two, three and four private bedrooms with one or two bathrooms.
Each apartment is furnished with a sofa, coffee table, kitchen table and chairs, two-burner stovetop, built-in microwave, full-size refrigerator with icemaker, sink and generous counter space and cabinet storage.
As in every residence hall, Blessing Hall has a Resident Assistant (RA) on every floor. The RA is responsible for coordinating hall meetings and creating activities to promote unity within the residence hall. Students also have the opportunity to be a part of the Inter-Residence Council (IRC). IRC is a cross-campus organization that serves as a forum for student input on residential life, in addition to providing services to the residents at HPU.

FINCH HALL Conveniently located in the center of campus, Finch Hall features suite-style living quarters with semi-private baths. Finch is an all-male residence hall. Each floor has a common lounge featuring pool tables, air hockey tables and plasma televisions.
Finch Hall is conveniently located between the Slane Student Center and the Kester International Promenade. Finch residents also enjoy the luxury of having one of HPU’s sand volleyball courts right outside their door.
THE WOMEN’S COMPLEX
Conveniently located next to Smith Library, the Complex provides housing for women in four connected residence halls- McEwen, North, Wesley and Yadkin. These four halls feature both suite-style living quarters with semi-private baths (McEwen 1st and 2nd floor) and traditional two-person rooms with hall baths (McEwen 3rd floor, North, Yadkin and Wesley Hall).

MILLIS HALL
Millis Hall is a residence hall with double occupancy rooms and new hallstyle bathrooms. Millis is currently a co-ed community, but has the ability to become genderspecific based on gender breakdown of each incoming class. Each room includes two built-in desks, two closets, full carpeting and ceiling fans. Millis Hall is located next to the Slane Student Center and the R.G. Wanek Center.
BELK HALL
This co-ed residence hall contains quads each made up of four two-person bedrooms surrounding a common area and large suite-style baths. Each suite has an entrance from an outside balconywalkway. Belk is a Wellness Residential Community that features 24-hour quiet hours and substance-free living.
