Wednesday, May 15. Nikole Hannah-Jones, a writer covering racial injustice for New York Times Magazine and a 2017 MacArthur Genius Grant Fellow, will open the conference with her inspiring story of personal advocacy for greater equity in education. Moderated by Rochelle Riley, Detroit Free Press columnist, this discussion will spark positive action and set the tone for an invigorating professional learning experience. As the sponsor, you will be recognized as presenting the HighScope International Conference Opening Keynote and Breakfast.

Thursday, May 16. Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha, the author of What the Eyes Don’t See: A Story of Crisis, Resistance, and Hope in an American City, a powerful first-hand account of the Flint water crisis and a riveting narrative of personal advocacy. Dr. Hanna-Attisha will share how her innovative program researching the impact of the Flint Water Crisis is helping to ensure all Flint children grow up healthy and strong. As the sponsor, you will be recognized as presenting the HighScope International Conference Luncheon which also features a musical performance and distribution of Dr. HannaAttisha’s book to those in attendance.

Friday, May 17. Dr. Ellen Frede, Senior Co-Director at the National Institute for Early Education Research at Rutgers University and Research Professor at the Graduate School of Education, concludes the conference. As a fellow early educator, Dr. Frede will invite attendees to explore their career opportunities and share her varied experiences in the field of early care and education. As the sponsor, you will be recognized as presenting the HighScope International Conference Closing Keynote.

Monday, May 13. An evening of networking with international early educators and industry thought leaders from from China to Mexico, from Chile to Indonesia and across the globe. Tuesday, May 14. A full-day of Preconference Workshops provides in-depth education and thoughtful discussion on a variety of topics. Attendees dive into rich subject matter, developing skills that they can apply in practice. As the sponsor, you will be recognized as presenting the HighScope International Preconference and Lunch.
