Georgiana Malloy’s Triumphs and Tragedy’s Erin
Georgiana Malloy lived with her mother , farther and her two sisters. Until her farther got thrown of a horse and died it changed Georgiana’s life she moved to a new house and married captian John Malloy . They decided to move to the newly found country New Holland

Georgiana set off they stopped half way through the journey at Cape Town to pick up supplies as there other supplies fell overboard . Then they carried on there journey to New Holland when they got to New Holland there was no room for Georgiana and John and a few other people and they headed towards flinders bay . Georgiana was about to have a baby so she was glad when they got off the ship with help from the Bussle boys everyone got there safely and then the Bussle boys put up all the shacks the first one was for Georgiana as she was having the baby . When the baby was born Georgiana called her Elizabeth Mary after her two sisters as she was starting to miss them .The baby was weak and died 2 days after

Georgiana was very sad about her baby’s tradgic death but then she got a letter it was from John Mangles telling her to send plants seeds and information to send back to Engaland

Georgiana collected lots of plants and had lots of babies on more died and after her seventh baby she was weak but she stayed alive for three months to care for her newest member of the family then she died at 37 years old
Georgiana Molloy’s triumphs Georgiana Malloy was the first women achieving botanist. Two of her specimens are in the Perth library, Cumbria Archive Centre. You can find lots of things on the internet about Georgiana Malloy. There are lots of pictures of the plants Georgiana collected.
It is possible to trace the plant down to the day she collected it from her diary’s and letters . Georgiana Malloy spent most of her time at the swan river colony nursing a baby but she always had time to collect plants and send package the seed up , after her seventh child she died at 37 years old.
