The women want a right to vote.
• A women’s role is to stay in the home, cook for her husband and take care of her family. • Women don’t live in a political world. God wanted men and women to have different roles in life. • Only women know how to comfort a crying baby or make a bit of bread. • Women were committing crimes that are not acceptable. They are breaking windows, cutting electrical wires, setting off bombs and even setting properties on fire! These women should get their opinion across in a more lady like fashion. If this is the behaviour that they are going to display when and if they are given their vote, I don’t think they deserve it. • Women are already represented because parliament represents the community’s not individual people. • Even if women were allowed to vote, they would have to vote for who their husband told them to vote for. It wouldn’t be a step forward. • With a vote comes obligations, men are obliged to go to war and coordinate heavy industry. This obligation comes with the right to vote. • Women are prone to being irrational. • Sometimes women are prone more than men by a great deal.
• Women wanted the right to be equal with men. • Women wanted the vote to create a better life for the future generations. • All women are just as capable of being a politician, lawyer or doctor as men are.
• It shouldn’t just be the education elite who have the right to vote. • Women should not be the only ones who cook dinner and take care of the children.
• Women should also get the opportunity to make decisions about how the country develops. • Women believe in deeds not words. • Women were willing to risk injury and imprisonment if it meant that their cause was heard. • Women should get the vote because they have the important responsibility of educating the future generations of the country. • Women are allowed vote for and stand on school boards. Why not extend that to the national government. • Women work hard and they deserve the vote.
