Louisa Lawson was a women of many talents. She married but soon after divorced with her husband she believed that women don’t need to depend on men. Soon later she moved to Sydney with her children.


• After moving to Sydney she made a living out of sowing and doing other peoples washing. Louisa had bigger dreams such as a writer but she did not need men.


• Louisa movement of radicals and republicans. Republicans did not want Australia to federate and remain within the British Empire. They wanted the new nation to be democratic, progressive and fully independent.


• Louisa Lawson soon help write for a newspaper company with the help of her son Henry. Then in 1888 she started her own newspaper and wrote about rights for women.


• Louisa Lawson only employed women for her newspaper men found this unfair as they thought the women printers were stealing there jobs. All though the campaign for women did not proceed.


• The inspirational journey through Louisa Lawson's life to help give rights to women. And to show us it is a women's world.
