the donkey Donkey, donkey, old and gray, Open your mouth and gently bray; Lift your ears and blow your horn, To wake the world this sleepy morn.
the boy in the barn A little boy went, into a barn, And lay down on some hay. An owl came out, and flew all about, And the little boy ran away.
high in the cypress tree High in the cypress, The little brown dove Made a little nursery To please her little love.
“Coo,” said the dove, “Coo,” said she; In the long, shady branches Of the cypress tree.
eenie, meenie, miney, moe Eenie, meeny, miney, moe Catch a ‘dillo by the toe, If he hollers, let him go Eenie, meenie, miney, moe.
SEE, SEE See, see! What shall I see? A horse’s head where his tail should be.
MARY, MARY, QUITE CONTRARY Mary, Mary, quite contrary, How does your garden grow? with bluebonnets, And cactuses all in a row.
IF I HAD A hog If I had a hob That wouldn’t go Do you think I’d beat him? Oh, no, no! I’d put him in a pen And give him some corn, And he’d be the best little hog, That ever was born.
SALLY SHOOT Little Sally Shoot Lost her cowboy boot; What shall little Sally do? Give her another To match the other And then she’ll walk upon two.
WILLY BOY “Willy boy, Willy boy, where are you going? I will go with you, if that I may.” “I’m going to the meadow to see them a-mowing, I’m going to help them to make the hay.”
humpty dumpty Humpty Dumpty sat on a horse, Humpty Dumpty fell down of course; All the farmers cattle, and all the farmers men Could not put Humpty Dumpty together again.
jack sprat Jack Sprat Could eat no fat, His wife could eat no lean; And so, Between them both, They licked the t-bone clean.
THIS LITTLE HORNED FROG This little horned frog took a big leap, This little horned frog took a small, This little horned frog leaped sideways, And this little horned frog not at all, And this little horned frog went, croakity, croakity all the way home.
Little MISS TEXAS Little Miss Texas Sat on a fence, Eating some barbeque; Along came a big spider, who sat down beside her, And frightened Miss Texas away.
little cowboy Little Cowboy, come, blow your horn! The sheep’s in the meadow, the cow’s in the corn. Where’s the little cowboy that looks after the sheep? Under the haystack, fast asleep!
A WELL As round as an apple, As deep as a cup, And all the cowboy’s horses can’t fill it up.
a boy and a girl There was a little boy and a little girl Who lived in Granbury; Says the little boy to the little girl, “Shall we, oh, shall we?” Says the little girl to the little boy, “What shall we do?” Says the little boy to the little girl, “I will kiss you.”
sleep, children, sleep Sleep, cowboy, sleep, Our starry sky is deep:
The little bull is in his pen, With growing horns not so thin; Sleep, cowboy, sleep.
Sleep, cowgirl, sleep, Down where the bluebonnets creep;
Be always like the goat so mild, A kind, and sweet, and gentle child. Sleep, cowgirl, sleep.
