Hut's is the classic American burger place, located in Austin. Huts is the place your typical Austinite would enjoy, with meat choices of Buffalo, Boneless Chicken and Longhorn grass fed beef or a 100% Veggie Burger and of course you could have a gluten free bun for anyone with a gluten allergy or just wanting to try something different. On a Wednesday night, you and a friend could head over to Hut's and take advantage of the 2 for 1 special. But don't forget the Onion rings, which are a wonderful treat, or fries with homemade chipotle mayonnaise. Hut's doesn't just offer burgers, the menu also has sandwiches, salads and a few comfort foods, such as Chicken Fried Steak and Meatloaf which are offered as a daily "blue plate" special. You can't forget dessert at the end of the meal which includes Mud pie and brownies, of course you could just have a shake or malt with your burger and have the entire Hut's experience in one filling meal! 807 W. 6th Street • (512) 472-0693 • www.hutsfrankandangies.com 25 Please tell advertisers our advertisers heard about themininEnjoy AustinSan Travel Guide 25 Please tell our youyou heard about them Antonio

Greetings, As Governor of Texas, I am pleased to extend a warm welcome to visitors of Austin. Whether you are traveling for business or for pleasure, and whether you have come from another country, another state or just another town, Austin offers a wealth of attractions to explore and enjoy. The capital city of Texas, Austin is known around the world for its vibrant arts scene, urban lakes, outstanding public parks, world-class golf courses, extensive hike and bike trails, and close proximity to the breathtaking Texas Hill Country. Best of all, these attractions can be enjoyed year-round, as the area enjoys a temperate climate and about 300 days of sunshine every year. And no trip to Austin would be complete without extensive sampling of the city’s outstanding cuisine. From mouthwatering barbecue to juicy steaks to spice Tex-Mex, you’ll find some of the most delicious food you’ve ever sunk a tooth into. While you’re in town, make sure to stop by our beautiful and historic Texas State Capitol -- the largest state capitol in the nation. Austin is an amazing city, but while you are in town, don’t forget about the smaller cities around Austin! Venturing out to these cities will give you a chance to experience all Texas has to offer! ♦ Schulenburg The 79th Legislature of the State of Texas designated Schulenburg the Official Home of the Painted Churches of Texas. Many of the early settlers to Schulenburg were of German and Czechoslovakian origin, and the area still shows evidence of their culture. The town is as well the home of Stanzel Flying Models Museum and home of the Texas Polka Music Museum. ♦ Brenham Want to spend time outdoors in the country? Plan to visit the three wineries on the Washington County Wine Trail! Combine that with visits to the Chappell Hill Lavender Farm and Lavande Lavender Farm. Add in the Antique Rose Emporium, Washington-on-the-Brazos State Historic Park, the Texas Cotton Gin in Burton, and Lake Somerville for some great outdoor adventures. Home of Blue Bell Ice Cream! ♦ San Marcos San Marcos welcomes visitors to our beautiful community. Located at the gateway to the Texas Hill Country, San Marcos has wonderful places to visit, great places to stay, and the best shopping (Tanger and Prime Outlet malls) in Texas! Our springfed San Marcos River provides a refreshing playground for swimming, canoeing, tubing—and even riding a glass bottom boat at Aquarena Center. ♦ Lockhart The Barbecue capital of Texas houses four BBQ restaurants that bring in 5,000 visitors a week! That’s a lot of barbecue! Blacks Barbecue, located on Main Street, has been around since 1932 and is internationally known. President Lyndon B. Johnson even asked Blacks Barbecue to cater an event at the White House! ♦ Bastrop Nestled on the banks of the Colorado River, the historic district offers a delightful selection of shops and restaurants as well as B&Bs. The city boasts over 100 historic homes. Bastrop is listed a “Distinctive Destination” by the National Trust for Historic Preservation and joins a roster of 132towns and cities across the nation accorded this honor. ♦ Wimberley Every first Saturday of the month, March through December, Wimberley hosts the oldest outdoor market in the Texas Hill Country and the second largest in Texas! Over 475 booths are set up for you to shop around at or just walk around the shaded paths enjoying the live music and atmosphere. Take a dip at Cypress Falls Swimming Hole, experience Wimberley Zipline Adventures or stay on the ground and go wine tasting . ♦ Dripping Springs Twenty five miles west of Austin, you’ll find the quaint town of Dripping Springs. The town offers gorgeous views of the Hill Country, rolling hills and flowing creeks. ♦ Marble Falls Some of Marble Falls attractions are the Winery Tour and Vanishing Texas River Cruise Tours. You have a 99% success rate of spotting bald eagles on the tour in the fall/winter! Many of the historic buildings in town have been transformed into beautiful and modern shops, restaurants and a theater. ♦ Buda Twenty Minutes south of Austin rests Buda. Buda has numerous golf courses as well as restaurants designed for you to have the most relaxing vacation possible. Downtown Buda has many antique, and specialty shops. Cabela’s Sporting Goods and Outdoors Store where even a woman can enjoy shopping is on 35 access to Buda. ♦ Kyle Kyle is home to the Texas Pie Company which boasts that their homemade pies and other baked goods represent “true southern comfort food”. If you’re in the mood to shop, you can visit Kyle’s fantastic flea market or many unique boutiques around town.
