Jessica Davila-Burnett, Boerne ISD School Volunteer, Communications Professional and Small Business Owner, Files for Boerne ISD School Board, Place 3 Jessica Davila-Burnett, Boerne ISD parent volunteer, communications professional and small business owner, filed as a BISD School Board Trustee, Place 3. She has served Texas Public Schools for nearly 20 years, advocating and volunteering in numerous ways, helping students, teachers, families and schools. Her commitments to the Boerne ISD include - Boerne Education Foundation Board of Director, Student Health Advisory Committee (SHAC) Member and Co-Chair Food Allergies Committee, Champion HS Choir Booster Club Two-term President, Champion HS Theater Parent Volunteer, BMS-South PTO Member, Van Raub Elementary School PTO Graphic Design Chair, and FORE and VRE Room Parent Volunteer. Davila-Burnett owns and operates JDB Public Relations and Executive Coaching, a communications firm
located in Boerne. She attended the University of the Incarnate Word and earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Psychology of Organizational Development and Leadership. She received her professional executive coaching certifications from the CaPP Institute in Peachtree City, GA. She is a graduate of the LBJ Women’s Campaign School at the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas. She has more than twenty years of professional communications experience working for large companies. She will put her policy management and public relations experience, and strong reputation as a community volunteer to work for all of BISD. “I am running for Boerne ISD school board, place 3, because families, students, teachers and the community deserve to be informed,” Davila-Burnett said. “I am a professional communicator and I will help open more dialogue between our families, our exemplary school district, and this incredible community.”

Dr. Kate Harrison is an experienced leader who has a proven record of working in high-pressure situations and making important decisions that affect families and students and on January 19th she filed paperwork to run for Place Three on the Boerne ISD School Board. Dr. Kate has a lifelong passion for teaching, coaching, and education, and now she’s running for school board to help navigate the challenging times we’re living in and face in the future. “Supporting teachers, managing sustainable growth, providing professional expertise and building stronger community relationships will be my focus as your next BISD board member,” said Dr. Kate. Kate grew up in New England and went on to attend Yale University and the University of Massachusetts Medical School. She moved to Texas with her husband, Corey, who served in the United States Air Force and was deployed to Iraq during Operation Enduring Freedom. Kate and Corey settled down in Texas Hill Country and are raising their three teenage boys here.
Their family has a deep appreciation for Boerne’s close-knit community feel, the agricultural and rodeo lifestyle, and the excellent public school system. As an Emergency Medicine physician, Kate has a high level of knowledge in the healthcare field and knows how to work collaboratively to solve problems. She is an advocate for her patients and will be an advocate for the students, teachers and staff of BISD. She currently works in the Emergency Department at Brooke Army Medical Center, proudly serving on the frontlines of the COVID pandemic and taking care of military families as well as teaching and supervising medical residents. She has served the district on the Student Health Advisory Committee for two terms, first for Fair Oaks Ranch Elementary and now for Boerne High School. When Kate isn’t working, she is at Boerne City Park for her boys’ swim and water polo meets, at HS cross country races, or attending St. Helena’s Church. Her family loves to hunt and hike and enjoy all of the outdoor activities that beautiful South Texas has to offer.
