Cesar Chavez Strategies

● Cesar Chavez urged strikers to resist violence because it would allow the public to see that all they wanted was fair trade and treatment.

● He did not believe that violence had much outcome, he believed the only outcome that came from violence was more brutal violence. To Cesar Chavez non-violence was a winning strategy, it only helped encourage violence

● “Violence just hurts those who are already hurt … Instead of exposing the brutality of the oppressor, it justifies it … We can turn the world if we can do it non-violently,” Cesar said.

The chicano movement shows how powerful protesting without violence is. Cesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta and supporters in this movement helped reinforce this .should people really have to put up with police brutality while trying to get back what was supposedly granted to us at birth freedom?
