ANOTHER YEAR OF INNOVATION AT GEMA

GEMA

Gema originates from Switzerland, a company with a rich history and is a brand which is synonymous with quality. In 2012 Gema became part of Graco Inc. (NYSE:GGG) and has continued to go from strength to strength in terms of growth, support offering and innovation.

As we continue to grow, Gema UK has been investing in the aftermarket business to provide best-in-class customer experience. 2022 is set to be another record year for Gema UK, and we believe the winning formula is our customercentric culture, strong leadership, well-established distribution network and an excellent reputation for after-sales service and support which gives our customers total piece of mind. Gema also leads from the front when it comes to R&D, with significant investments and commitment to developing new and ground breaking technologies our focus remains on commercialising innovations that improve the powder application process, our aim is to deliver multiple bottom line benefits to our customer base though these advanced technologies. 2022 will see the installation several Gen2 Dynamic Contour Detection systems, a sophisticated product recognition system which enables effective

automatic coating of different product shapes and sizes without the need for pre-set programming. The advanced scanner detects object contours using multi-angle technology, enabling reliable object detection with high resolution down to 5mm at line speeds of up to 5m/min. This precise system supports high degrees of automation and significantly reduces the dependency on operators to carry out the coating task.

The Dynamic Contour Detection solution is seamlessly integrated into the Master Control 4.0, which automatically translates object geometries into optimised gun coating parameters and adjusts each gun axis individually to achieve outstanding coating results on complex geometries.

The enhanced axis technology complements the system, allowing for more guns, faster and more precise gun positioning and movement than previously available. The ZA16 is the most powerful and robust reciprocator available today providing high load capacity and precise movement. The individual UA05 gun axis positions each gun during the coating of complex objects, and these allow the guns to be positioned as close as 110mm to each other, allowing for better coating performance and results than previously possible.

Another recent development is the powerful software-based GemaConnect dashboard system. The GemaConnect dashboard is the new digital production information tool for line operators and coating supervisors, the system offers full transparency of the current status of the powder application as well as visualising performance indicators of the coating line. The information platform intelligently visualises the coating and performance data on a desktop or tablet. In addition, the web-based tool stores the real-time data from the powder coating and provides comprehensive monitoring and analysis options from a single source. GemaConnect is the perfect tool for companies that want to improve their overall operational efficiency, maximise resources and reduce operating costs, it’s a great tool to set and monitor internal KPI’s and continuous improvement initiatives. A neat feature available from the GemaConnect is the routine and preventative maintenance feature, which allows for better planning and supports mitigation of risk around unplanned breakdown events. Finally our technical support team can review software and provide online support which is a great benefit when it comes to maximising uptime.
