Welcome to our 2025 sale, marking 48 years raising registered Limousin seedstock, 39 years of bull sales and our 9th on-farm sale. Our heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported our 2024 sale, we are tremendously grateful and honoured to have you be a part of our program - and us a part of yours. This is our entire livelihood, and we know the importance of your bull selection to yours. Selecting sires for your herd is the single most important investment you are making to impact your herd and your bottom line for years to come. We value the opportunity to discuss the bulls with you over the phone, or better yet, in person, to help you select the best options to suit your needs. We are proud to be the largest source of all registered, purebred two year old and yearling Limousin bulls from one herd, in one sale, in Canada. You will find 100% of the bulls and females in the sale to be purebred, registered Limousin animals. We have quality, in quantity. You will find a large selection of red, black, performance and calving ease options. Our cowherd has been built by staying true to our own program, for 48 years. We have built a herd of predictability, of females who do their jobs with ease all by themselves, and progeny who consistently offer genetic advancement to our customers and improvement to the industry. The vast majority of bulls in the sale rank in the top 1-5% of the Canadian Limousin herd book for stayability which speaks volumes about the longevity of our herd. Females that truly work in every way stay the course, and our cows work.
This year's sale offering represents both tried and true herd sires that we are highly confident in as well as some very exciting new genetics that we feel are exactly what the Limousin breed and beef industry need. The two year old bulls forage a large grass pasture all summer and fall and come in hardened, fit and ready to be grown out slow and steady for many years of breeding ahead. They will get ground and females covered. Our selection of yearling bulls is extremely strong and consistent all the way through. There is truly something for everyone in the yearling pen and we are very proud of this group. All of the sale heifers are homozygous polled. Canadian Junior Limousin Association members receive a 10% discount on female(s) purchased from the sale and juniors who enter their purchased female in the 2025 CJLA Impact Show in Swift Current, Saskatchewan will receive an additional $100 from us towards show entry fees. BULL DEVELOPMENT Our feeding program is built to maximize forage utilization and gut health. Forages are sampled and analyzed to ensure quality. The bulls have been summered on grass, and wintered on a forage-based TMR that matches suitable protein sources to proper starch to develop and express their genetic potential and promote lean muscle growth. Organic minerals are used to ensure proper immune function and overall health. Throughout the fall and first part of winter they are fed in the field, for maximum exercise. They will continue on the same feeding program post-sale. They have been responsibly developed slowly for longevity in commercial conditions. If you have questions about the nutrition program please reach out to us or our nutrition consultant.
HERD HEALTH Hillview Farms is on a complete herd health vaccination program. Calves receive Bovi-Sheild Gold One Shot and Vision 8 Somnus + Spur before they go to pasture and are boostered pre-weaning with the same two vaccines. The coming two year old bulls are also boostered in the fall. Breeding females receive Covexin Plus, Vira Shield 6 + VL5 HB and Scour Bos. Every animal also receives Solmectin in the fall and CyLence in the winter. All bulls have been scrotal measured, semen tested, and inspected by a veterinarian prior to sale. A copy of the test results will be provided to the buyer. Weights, scrotal measurements and homozygous polled results (where applicable) will be available prior to sale day. Heifers will be palpated by a veterinarian prior to sale.
DELIVERY & BOARDING $100 off your purchase if taken home sale day. Free delivery to central regions in Western Canada, at the convenience of Hillview Farms, and buyers risk. Hillview Farms will arrange for trucking at buyer’s cost for purchases going to Eastern Canada or other areas. HOMOZYGOUS POLLED TESTING 100% of calves from bulls listed as homozygous polled will be polled even if bred to horned cows. Animals listed as heterozygous polled are polled themselves but their progeny is not guarenteed to be polled. Scurs are a separate gene and not tested for. Homozygous polled cattle may still have scurs but will not have horns.

Big time cow power here - Lot 7's dam Cinderella is one of the leading females in the herd in terms of both phenotype and her performance and progeny record. At 10 years of age she is going strong and raising great ones year after year. Lone Wolf is a high performing bull with size and frame. 105 WW ratio and 916 lb. actual weight at weaning time. 46 goes back to the Hillview Figurine 838F cow who is one of our favourite females. She is beautiful to look at and has given us 4 heifer calves, so far, all of which have been retained in our herd. Midnight 440M is a really fancy, smooth made and correct girl who has show heifer written all over her. She has a real maternal look, sweeping rib shape and is quiet and fantastic to work with. She ranks in the top 2% of the breed for calving ease, top 5% for birth weight, top 1% for calving ease maternal. We have had over 65 Geode progeny and have numerous daughters in production. In addition to his calving ease expertise, he puts a special dose of style, hair, hip shape and eye appeal into his progeny which is why he's stuck around here for the long haul.
