“In 1966 when I established the David Barnett Gallery, I proudly became a pioneer and advocate for Milwaukee’s budding artistic community. Over the course of its forty-six years, the David Barnett Gallery has remained committed to developing the careers of Milwaukee’s promising young artists and to preserving their legacy. As a continuation of my original mission, I am pleased to present over thirty objects from my gallery’s fine art collection in this auction, which will benefit the founding of the David Barnett Artists Grant Program for the emerging and mid-career artists of Wisconsin.”
