With tremendous focus, patience and skill Daniel Brush has produced a profound body of work. Originally a painter it was not until he began his relationship with gold as a medium that his creative force was fully realized. Inspired by myriad influences, such as classical architecture and Taoist philosophy, a collection of jewelry and decorative art has taken shape that defies categorization.

Mr. Brush eschews modern efficient techniques in favor of the painstaking methods used in ancient metalworking. This preference informs much of the work with a sense of bravado to the trained eye. Routinely walking an extremely fine line between success and disaster, a delicate gold dome accented with several hundred granulations or ancient Mastadon ivory carving prepared for countless hours could easily be destroyed were it not for a most delicate and studied hand. With nothing rushed for completion many important pieces take months or even years to be finished.
