We are pleased to be handling the collection of Léon Bing, former muse and model to the famed designer Rudi Gernreich, known for his geometric pattern knit dresses and topless bathing suits. In 1967, Léon Bing and Peggy Moffitt appeared together with the designer on the cover of an issue of Time magazine. Moffitt returned to London and Bing took over Moffitt’s post as Gernreich’s main muse in every modeling capacity from runway shows to advertising campaigns in Los Angeles and New York.
Bing’s collection tells a wonderful story of her work with Rudi Gernreich. Today Bing is more notably known for her journalism, more specifically her books Do or Die, a national best seller, and Swans and Pistols, a memoir of her life as an iconic model turned journalist and mother.
