This is followed with the additions to Knolles’ text by Rycaut, the entire text of Rycaut’s Present State of the Ottoman Empire, as well as his revised history of the Turkish Empire up to 1677, and with a continuation by Sir Roger Manley for the period 1678-1686. The second part of Rycaut’s History of the Turkish Empire was published as the third volume of this set. According to a newspaper article (Boston Herald, Wednesday, February 10), the World Glory was the largest oil tanker up to that point built in the United States at 736 feet with a capacity for 16.5 million gallons. The archive consists of an album, presented to Mrs. Whiteford, by the officers and crew of World Glory, with 34 pp. of tipped-in black and white original photographs of the ship’s construction and launching. $400-600
