BILL ZWECKER There is simply no one in Chicago better connected to Hollywood and its A-list stars than Bill Zwecker. As bright and interesting as the man himself, Seeing Stars is a distinctive collection of memorabilia from a legendary career spanning over three decades. Bill Zwecker is a former longtime entertainment and celebrity journalist who served as a columnist at the Chicago Sun-Times and an entertainment anchor at FOX Chicago. He also held previous reporting posts at Chicago’s CBS Channel 2, NBC Channel 5, the top-rated “Eric and Kathy Show” and served as a frequent contributor to “The Joan Rivers Show” from 1990 to 1994. Across America, Bill has also been a frequent contributor to the top national news and entertainment programs, including Access Hollywood, Entertainment Tonight, Showbiz Tonight, Extra, Today Show, The CBS Nightly News, Biography on A&E and Larry King Live. Bill followed in the legendary footsteps of his mother, Peg Zwecker, the awardwinning fashion editor and columnist for the Chicago Daily News and SunTimes. Among numerous honors, Bill has twice been awarded the prestigious Peter Lisagor Award, Chicago journalism ́s highest accolade. He has been nominated for three Emmy Awards and was part of the NBC 5 news team honored with an Associated Press award in 2004. His ethics and professionalism are what earned Bill his place among the greatest entertainment reporters in journalism. “The trick with being a good gossip columnist is to treat gossip and celebrity entertainment like hard news,” Zwecker told the Windy City Times in 2001. “You check out sources. We’re only as good as our sources are. That’s what gives you credibility.” Bill added that bringing A-list news to the world has always been his calling. “I knew that the celebrity thing was really my niche. I’ve always been interested in people and their lives,” he said. “Now I’m in a position to be able to share that news with the world.”
