120 VOLT

EASY TO SET UP AND ENJOY

HINKLEY'S LINE VOLTAGE PRODUCTS OFFER THE LIGHTING PROFESSIONAL A MORE POWERFUL LANDSCAPE LIGHTING OPTION

120VOLT

Line voltage systems operate with more power than their low voltage counterparts and can accommodate larger lamps with much higher wattage, creating significant light output from a small number of fixtures. Line voltage is most commonly used in commercial, security and public applications. It can also be used in residential applications where extensive up-lighting on large architectural features and mature landscape is required or where a 120v wiring system is already in place.

LINE VOLTAGE INSTALLATION

A licensed electrical contractor is highly recommended to install line-voltage landscape lighting systems. When installing 120v systems, the UF-type cable must be properly buried at least 18 inches in the ground or 12 inches in the ground when protected by a GFCI breaker. Alternately, AWM wire can be placed in a protective conduit with sealed junction boxes at the connection points. Installation is labor-intensive and rigid, which makes line-voltage systems a more permanent option than low-voltage systems. Installation by a professional will ensure your line-voltage system functions properly. Local code requirements should be consulted.

VALUE AND CONVENIENCE

Choosing to install a Line Voltage system can be an economical solution in residential situations where a wiring system is already in place. Rather than re-wire a low voltage system, which requires a transformer and a fresh wiring plan, Hinkley Line Voltage fixtures can be put into place with relative ease. A wide variety of lamping options offers convenience when choosing a Line Voltage system. Traditional incandescent lamps can be used and technology advancements have even led to popularity with self-ballasted fluorescent lamps.
