FIT Using global body dimension studies we design our apparel to fit women perfectly. The Liv apparel program consists of three fit options: Race Fit, Club Fit and Relaxed Fit. These options help women choose the best clothing for their riding style and fit preferences.
FORM At Liv, we aim to design the most flattering cuts, plus fresh new color palettes and patterns each year. The Liv design team develops the color palette based on a theme 08

In the same vein as your favorite pair of jeans or a silk blouse, biking gear comes with plenty of “do’s and don’ts” when it comes to keeping it clean.

How Often do I Wash my Cycling Clothes

Hang your jerseys and shorts inside out when you get home. If you are not able to wash your garments right away, hang them instead of throwing them in a pile. The longer cycling shorts and jerseys stay damp with sweat, the more likely, even with great technologies like Liv’s TransTextura fabric, they are to grow odor-causing bacteria.
Re-wear your bike clothes. It may be tempting to throw on the same kit for a second day, especially if you were only in it for an hour the day before. Even though Liv’s TransTextura fabric is made specifically to wick moisture away from the body and dry quickly while riding, the fibers may hold on to bacteria if not washed properly. Even worse, wearing the same bibs for a second day could result in rashes, chafing, and even infections in extreme cases.
Do…
Zip up. If your jersey has zippers, zip them up. Ensure any other fasteners are closed, as well. These could get snagged on delicate mesh and other materials in cycling clothes. Wash all your kits together. Bulky items like jeans and towels can destroy delicate fabrics. Also, turn shorts inside out, as well as any screen printed jerseys.
Don’t…
Wash cycling clothing with anything that has Velcro. Velcro will shred mesh and will pick the fabric of jerseys and shorts, which means, gloves and pads will have to be washed separately.
Check the labels. Read washing instructions on the labels in cycling clothing. If you follow the directions given with the garment, it will have the best chance of living a long and productive life. Wash cycling apparel by hand in warm water. Washing by hand is the easiest way to know that your clothes will be clean and damage free. Liv recommends a maximum water temperature of 30 degrees Celsius (86 degrees Fahrenheit). If you are running short on time, tossing all your cycling clothes in the washer on a gentle or delicate cycle with the same water temperature will do the trick. Wash gloves by hand to avoid stiff fabric and Velcro issues. Use detergents without perfumes or dyes. PROPER HELMET FIT AND ADJUSTMENT When riding a bike, there is one rule that is always true: you need to wear a helmet. The goals of a properly fit helmet are to effectively protect the head from injury in the event of a crash and increase comfort when riding on the road or trail. Liv’s new performance helmets, strive to offer even more benefits. Before you can benefit from the performance enhancing features of Liv helmets, ensuring your helmet is fit properly and adjusted correctly is necessary.
Size Helmet
To determine what size helmet you will need, wrap a measuring tape around your head, just above your ears. Make sure the tape is level and you are measuring the widest part of your head, usually about an inch above the eye brows. Match this measurement to a correlating helmet size. Ideally, being able to try the helmet on is the best way to determine a correct fit. When the helmet is placed on your head, the top of your head should touch the pads inside the top of the helmet. If there is a gap here, or too large of a gap above your eyebrows, the helmet is too small. If there is a space between the side of your head and the helmet, or the front of your helmet covers your eyebrows , the helmet is too big.

Position
Even if the helmet is the right size, it may move around on your head before it is properly adjusted. Place the helmet level on your head so the front sits around one inch above your eyebrow and the retention band in the rear sits at the base of your head. In case of an impact, you want your forehead to be covered.
Adjustment
There are three main adjustment points on your helmet: the Giant Cinch Pro retention system located behind your head, the LiteForm Strap Webbing around your ears, and the chin strap. For a comfortable and safe fit, all these adjustment points must be accurate. First, with the helmet sitting in the correct
position, use the Cinch Pro ratcheting system behind your head to secure the helmet. The Cinch Pro fit system cradles the occipital bone at the base of your head for full protection, support and comfort. When the retention is dialed in correctly, the helmet should not move. Next, adjust the LiteForm strap webbing around your ears. On the Rev Liv helmet, the LiteForm strap webbing is held together with a buckling lockring cam. Unbuckle the cam, so the straps can move freely through it, and adjust the length of the straps around your ears. The lockring cam should sit directly under your ear and above the jawline. On all other helmets, the LiteForm strap is stitched under the ear and makes adjustments extremely easy.
Finally, adjust the length of the chin strap. When buckled, you should be able to insert two fingers under the strap. Too loose, and your helmet could dislodge during impact. Too tight, and comfort is sacrificed. With a properly fit, positioned and adjusted helmet, you are ready to ride with confidence and comfort!

SADDLE USER STORY Saddle 216
It was about 3 a.m. at 24 Hours of Old Pueblo, the largest 24-hour mountain bike race in the United States. Switching back and forth with my partner and fellow Giant colleague, Allen Needle, I had already ridden 2 laps earlier in the day and another 2 laps that night for a total of 102 km. I had been preparing for months, but quite frankly, with no sleep under my belt, at this point I was tired. I stood in the transition tent, choked down another protein bar, as I feel the temperature still dropping slightly before the approaching sunrise. I promised Allen one more lap… That I would ride three laps.
One thought is really pushing me not to go back out. My saddle is killing me. I laugh and think, of all things… My saddle. This can’t be my excuse. I walk out of the tent, throw my leg over the saddle and grimace. I’ll need to spend the first three or so kilometers just trying to numb back up. Fast forward a few months to April. I had told this very story to our Liv gear team and they asked me to try a new saddle for them since they were in the development stages with the saddle program. Once I got home, I was fit using the Giant Dynamic Cycling Fit method on a fit saddle that is actually placed on my bike to show my contact
condition while riding. It turns out I am a forward and I had been riding a saddle made by a different company that was better suited for an upright rider. Off I went with my new Liv Forward Contact SL saddle to ride the Belgian Waffle Ride. A ride that covers 217 km and 3,000 meters of climbing, I fought many demons during this ride, including getting chased by a man dressed up like a devil on a climb. I got stung by a bee, muscles through sand pits, climbs dirt roads and singletrack and crossed streams all on a Liv Avail Advanced 1. Yes a road bike. But what didn’t bother me was my saddle. In
fact, I was so shocked at how great my saddle felt at the end of the ride, I said, “I could sit in this saddle for another 200 Km.” I always say that an ill-fitting saddle can ruin any ride, no matter the length and many times women will tell you it is a reason they either don’t ride or quit riding. The Liv saddle line up really is the answer to all our prayers (or grumbles at 3 a.m. in a transition tent).
