-Gabrielle ByamWhen I heard that I would be directing the Jungle Book my first thought was “Gainesville childhood” (hula hoops, live music, running, and playing). My concept was influenced by my personal childhood attending Jordan Glen School, a school that encourages outside play and the arts, and experiences attending free Friday night concerts at Bo-Didley Plaza, as well as other community/ family oriented events in Gainesville. I wanted my version of the Jungle Book to embody childhood and the aspects of Gainesville that make it uniquely special and family friendly. I would like to thank my amazing cast for all of their hard work and dedication, and the wonderful adults who support their endeavors in the arts. As well as Sage and Terry for all of their hard work in the booth, calling the cues and making sure our lights and sound turn on. A special thank you to our Education Director, Gabrielle Byam, for all of the guidance she has provided.
Enjoy the show!

What an incredible gift to be able to bring The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane to the life.
Dwayne Hartford’s script inspired by Kate DiCamillo’s novel has been an absolute pleasure to direct.
Edward’s quest in search of love and belonging felt like a timely tale and one worth telling.
I’m beyond grateful to the actors for putting their trust in this process.
Thanks to choreographer extraordinaire Calypso Meyers for her absolute genius.
Special shout out Joey Truluck our Stage Manager!

“Bootycandy” is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc www concordtheatricals comWhile working on Haint Blues, we discussed how the fictional town in the play, “Tres Flores”, is based on the town in Florida called Cassadaga. Cassadaga has been named the “Psychic Capital of the World”, we incorporated our knowledge into our play to really bring it to life whilst putting our own spin on it to make it fun for all.
When I heard I would be directing a musical, I couldn’t have been happier. I love music and sharing it with others and I know the amazing cast has enjoyed it as well. This story is about friendship and acceptance which is perfect for this year's summer spectacular!
A big thank you to the outstanding cast for their commitment and enthusiasm. Thank you to Stage Manager Kiersten and Terry in the booth, the show wouldn't be the same without them. Thank you to Jesse Hunter, for writing a great story and music. Special thanks to our Education Director, Gabrielle Byam for all the guidance she has provided. And a final thanks to you, the community, for supporting our young artists. Enjoy the show!
