Why the Nativity? Dr. David Jeremiah Brings Jesus Christ's Birth to Life
Now with the Christmas season just around the corner, billions of people worldwide are getting ready to celebrate the season. But what about Jesus' birth?
Dr. David Jeremiah's new docudrama called, Why the Nativity? shows us what the true reason for the season is.
This docudrama was produced by Dr. David Jeremiah and his Turning Point Studios production company. The docudrama tells us of the story of the nativity, pulling information from the old and new Testaments. Dr. David Jeremiah said, "It's a story that's just begging to be shown. Obviously, there's no way you can show it and have it be everything it should be, but we came close and I'm really excited about it."
The script is narrated by Dr. David Jeremiah; he then answers a lot of heavy questions, such as: • Why the virgin Mary? • Why a carpenter named Joseph? • Why did poor shepherds and wealthy kings bow down to worship a newborn king?
And maybe more importantly: • Why should we care some 2,000 years later and what should the baby in the manger mean to us as we prepare to celebrate Christmas?
Dr. David Jeremiah is hoping that the viewers will learn about the nativity story from the docudrama. Dr. David Jeremiah said, "So many people who watched it in the early stages told me that this movie puts the story together so that all of the things make sense... the timing of the Wise Men, the anxiety of Joseph during the period when he didn't know what was going on."
The docudrama is about 80 minutes long and is already a big hit. Around 5 million people have watched the docudrama already on YouTube.
The docudrama will also be shown at the Museum of the Bible through the first part of January. Dr. David Jeremiah has also made the docudrama available to churches that would like to stream it from his website.
