When it was his turn to mint his own coins on the 110th anniversary of the founding of the Old City of Rome, Constantius II, son of Constantine the Great, chose to depict his favorite sport: gladiatorial contest. The obverse of the coin has a portrait of Constantius II, and the reverse depicts the end of a gladiator fight, the victor about to slay the loser, with the legend “Fel Temp Reparatio,” translating to “Happy days are here again.” Album includes a certificate of authenticity.
