ABSTRACT Mount Abu and the major concern of the place is the climate change. Since last 25 year , there was no construction allowed in mount Abu due to over construction and climate change happening due to that . Now ,after 25 year the construction is permitted keeping the eco sensitive zone bylaws , in mind so the major concern of the proposed project is to construct the premise keeping and fulfilling those by laws in consideration and creating a eco sensitive environment . HILL RESORT, MOUNT ABU

Introduction 1.1 Background India is second largest most populated country. There are different climates like Hot and dry climate, warm and humid, Composite, Cold and cloudy, Cold and Sunny. And Also The design of all houses, buildings according is by There climate. Many hill stations are in India. Most of the hill Stations in India were developed by the British around a central mall to get respite from the oppressive summer heat. Many have picturesque lake as their focal point, making excellent places for boating Activities and Tourist activities. 1.1.2 Tourism Rajasthan is located in the North western part of subcontinent. Mount Abu is most tourist Attractive place and also an important place for religious temples. Around 65% of the Tourist people coming to Mount Abu come to enjoy the Natural environment. 50% Tourist flow from Gujarat state. foreign tourists from 10% of the total flow. Fig.1 Location of Rajasthan in map of India. Source- www.mapsofindia.com

1.2 Problem The major problem in Mount Abu its over growing population and excessive construction which is done without keeping its topography and climate in mind due to which the ecosystem of Abu got affected. And that is way is why the whole hill station was declared as Eco sensitive Zone. 1.3 Design project Due to eco sensitive Zone the construction in the Mount Abu was not allowed since last years. But now the stay on construction is been lifted by the start government and the construction will be allowed by following the laws of eco sensitive Zone. So the project is to propose Hill resort with use of natural material.

1.4 Place Mount Abu is the only hill station of Rajasthan. It is the most visited tourist place of Rajasthan where not only the public of Rajasthan but also public of Gujarat and Staters visit frequently. Its connects to Gujarat and which is why Abu is the most Famous Tourist place amongst Gujarat Crowd. 1.5 Motivation Once I visited Mt. Abu on holidays for relaxing in hill station. But when I get there the whole scenario was different, it did not feel like a hill Station . Rather, there was the huge concrete jungle. So I got a thought that I should Propose something here which is in the true sense Nature Connected. And mean while I read an article in the news paper regarding lifting the ban on construction in Abu. 1.6 Objective To Provide a peaceful environment for the resort and tourist people. To provide interactive space between cottages in resort. To identify the natural material of Mount Abu and consider the most useful material in the Resort design. Study about the Material and technique for the resort walls and foundation. To Generate an income through tourist people for Mount Abu. 1.7 Research Methodology The following sequential Method will be Apply and come up with the final design. • • • • • •

Identify the site location of the project. Understanding of the site location , Surrounding site context. Study About vegetation and site topography. Literature review of Resorts. Case study of the different Resorts. Understanding the spaces and Requirements of the project.

2.1Introduction Different Types of Resort in India based on Location. Hill Resort, Beach Resort, Eco Resort. And many Design technique for different places resorts. While designing resort we need to know about Contextual element, Environmental consideration, Landscape design, exterior design, structure, connectivity, circulation. 2.2 Characteristics of contours

Fig.2 Showing hill

Fig.3 Showing Depression

Contour line cross ridge or valley line at right angles.

A series of closed contour lines on the map Indicate a depression if the the higher value are outside.

Fig.4 Showing Ridge line

Fig.5 Showing overhanging cliff

A series of closed contour lines on the map represent a hill , if the higher value are inside. B.ARCH. 2021

Contour line cannot merge or cross one another on map exept in the case of overhanging cliff. 22

160101101015

HILL RESORT, MOUNT ABU

Contour lines never run into one another except in the case of vertical cliff. In this case, several contours coincide and the horizontal eqivalent becomes zero.

Fig.7 Showing Saddle

Fig.6 Showing Vertical cliff

Depressions betwwn summits is called a saddle . it is represented by four sets of contoiurs as shown. It represents a dip in a ridge or the junction of two ridges. And in the case of a mountain range, it takes the form of a 90 pass.

Line passing through the saddles and summits gives water shed line.

Spread over 32 acres along the man-made lake, the 12 cottages have been meticulously planned and conceptualized and are located in two clusters on either side of the facilities. Merging Rajasthani design with eco sensibility, the twelve mud and stone cottages, supplement the Marana and Zenana and invoke an experience both private and symbiotic with nature. A swimming pool was dug out of the rocks adjacent to the original 'haven' and fissures in the geological formations guided the shape and form of the pool is in rock-cut architecture. 3.1.3 Material

Fig.14 Stones used in walls

Fig.15 cottage view

The cottages are located in the natural topography taking into account views, trees, rocks, wind, sun, and drainage patterns. Design responses to these factors gave each cottage a distinct form and identity. The materials used for building were all sourced locally the foundations were made of local slate; the sun Dried mud bricks for the walls were made on site; local sandstone was used for door and window frames as well as brackets, lintels and roof slabs; `kikar' (Acacia) and eucalyptus logs were used as beams; local Bidasan marble was used for flooring bathrooms were built in sate masonry with basins carved from solid rocks. 3.1.4 Concept Introduced the 'Zero Kilometer' design concept. This stressed their belief that while design should be innovative and functional, efforts should be made to involve local craftsmen and preserve local traditions. This not only brings down the cost of a project substantially, but also reduces environment pollution entailed by transportation and makes quality control easier to manage, in addition to involving the local craftsmen and sustaining livelihoods in the region.
