WEB FEATURE

The minimalistic pavilion acts as a window for the world that is the outcome of our lifestyle. The free shading loop of steps while gelling with the surrounding provide a build up for the platform lying ahead that looks on to the majestic kilimanjaro valcano. A perforated screen that portrays a view of extinct species of black Rhino has been used as a metaphorical window to open our eyes towards the ill effect of our actions on nature. In all, the pavillion is a simple structure that blends with the nature and provides a journey. The pavillion is an attempt at a journey of self realisation. SITE : Amboseli National Park, located in Kajiado County, Kenya CITATION : World Top 30 ( Students + Professionals ) YEAR : Post Monsoon Period 2018 KEYWORDS : Kilimanjaro, Park, Pavilion, Wildlife, Loop, Landmark, Awareness.

SITE APPROACH

THE AIM OF THE DESIGN IS FOR A FREE STANDING PAVILION THAT WOULD ALLOW VISITORS NEW WAYS TO VIEW AND EXPREIENCE THE WILDERNESS AND BE CLOSE TO NATURE .

SHUTUP

SO , WE DESIGNED A PAVILION = 300 M TALL AND A 100 METERS WIDE . A SUPER RATIONAL STRUCTURE ,IT WOULD BE AN ORGY OF ORTHOGONALITY. THE FACADE WOULD BE FINISHED WITH YELLOW TIMBER ,AND A RATIONAL RISE OF STAIR PLATES IN VARYING SIZES - FROM 06 TO 03 METERS - WOULD CREATE AN EVEN MERGING ELEVATION ACROSS THE AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK.

The interiors consists of few brick walls only in places where we need them to maintain not only a semblance of privacy but to make the interior spacious too. A play with the levels perpetuates the excitementthroughout. This modern duplex is designed in a way thatlights up the southern side of the house with the front side of the house being devoid of any windows and tolet the daylight stream in through, skylights have been provided. Located in the woods, nature proves to be the harbinger of peace and calm, freeing theresidents from any kind of interruptions. To make the manmade structure one with the environment, landscape has been incorporated inside the bungalow with trees of varying height planted with the winebar being located in the landscaped area itself.Commonly habited spaces overlook the pool and can be transformed into one huge space, due to the lack of interior walls, when entertaining guests. A bridge connects the bedroom on the first floors which casts a shadow down on pool, making the water suitable for taking a swim even during hot afternoons. HOOK AND COOK o

o

20.4283 N, 72.8397 E

The restaurant has opened with striking and innovatively-designed dinning house. However, the design associates an entirely different mood with the conventional dinning beverages. Hook and Cook, consists of 10 multi-color shipping containers, shifted and stacked in a table etiquette-like formation . Within the containers’ 4000 sqft (371.6 sqm) of space are a variety of intimate and comfortable spaces. The containers’ in the lower floor are piered at a minimum distance from the water level with glass flooring that allows to rethink of the relationship between human, dinning table and water. The containers on the top floor are elevated on columns with reflective cladding that provokes a sense of containers hung in the clouds. The floors in-between space is also incorporated into the design to maximize the store’s convenience to its customers. Hanging the dinning table to the reflective ceiling, let the people in, let the water in. That’s what i have designed. SITE : Fictious (Somewhere on Water) SEMESTER EIGHT DESIGN STUDIO YEAR : Winters 2019 KEYWORDS : Adaptive-Reuse ,Vibrant, Floating, Multilevel, Lesuire, Reflection.

CONCEPT FRAMEWORK

THE IDEA IS TO DESIGN A SPACE WHICH NOT ONLY ELATES THE SENSE OF TASTE , BUT IT HOLDS THE ABILITY TO ACCENTUATE ALL THE FIVE GESTURES OF EATING TABLE.

DESIGN CONCEPTUALIZATION

WIKIPEDIA WRITES THAT THE REASONS BEHIND THIS SYMBOL’S COMMON APPEARANCE IN INDIC RELIGIOUS AND THE WEST ARE LOST IN THE MISTS OF ANTIQUITY. ONE POSSIBILITY IS THAT THEY HAVE A COMMON ORIGIN.

IT IS INTERESTING TO NOTE THAT MANIFESTATIONS OF THE HEXAGON SHAPE APPEARS IN CHRISTIANITY ,ISLAM ,HINDUISM ,BUDDHISM ,JUDAISM AND JAINISM.

MEASURE DRAWING 32.2396° N, 77.1887° E

THE TASK : To study the rich culture of upper region of Himachal Pradesh along with the states own indigenous construction technique prevalent in the isolated hills of northern India, especially in the region of Himachal Pradesh where it’s known as Kath Kuni and in Uttarakhand it’s known as Koti Banal. The construction was devised keeping the seismic activity, topography, environment, climate, native materials and cultural landscape in perspective. Most of the oldest temples, in the region, are built using this ancient system. This unique construction technique has led to the formation of a vernacular architectural prototype known as Kath-Kuni (cator and cribbage) Architecture.
