An American presence on the world stage is back in a big way with Texan Garrett Gerloff making his FIM Superbike World Championship debut last month at Australia’s Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit and with California native Joe Roberts emerging as a frontrunner on the Moto2 grid when MotoGP visited Losail International Circuit in Qatar. Gerloff will aim to bring the WorldSBK title back to Texas for the first time since Ben Spies was crowned champion in 2009, while Roberts has already proved that he just might be the man to beat after delivering a record-breaking performance under the lights in the Qatari desert. We’re looking forward to getting back to racing!

ARENAS VICTORIOUS IN QATAR HJC’s own Albert Arenas kicked off 2020 with a bang after he piloted his Aspar Team Gaviota machine to thrilling victory at Losail International Circuit in Doha, Qatar, and stole the opening win of the 2020 Moto3 World Championship. The Spaniard, who earned three trips to the podium in 2019 including a win at the Japanese GP, is no stranger to the front of the Moto3 pack, and he will surely be a title favorite when competition returns worldwide.

HJC is excited to announce a new addition to the family with South African rider Brad Binder! Binder kicked off his Grand Prix career in 2011 as a competitor in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup. The following season he entered Moto3 and over the years established himself as a dominating force on the track before being crowned the 2016 Moto3 World Champion. Three years of Moto2 and an impressive number of wins later, Binder’s dreams have come true as he secures a place on the MotoGP grid. Although this is the first year Binder will be wearing HJC, this season won’t be the first time they’ve celebrated on the podium together. The rider took second at the 2019 HJC Helmets Grand Prix of Deutschland, and there are high hopes for more podium celebrations with each other in future.

ALEX RAY SUPERCROSS SGB RACING
HJC is back in professional Supercross and motocross racing with the signing of 450 class rider Alex Ray, as the Tennessee native will wear the i50 throughout the 2020 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series and Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship. Ray is a top-20 rider and easily one of the best personalities in the professional paddock. If you make it to any races this year, keep an eye out for the number 61 Kawasaki on the starting gate, and look for HJC to continue to expand its off-road program for 2021. It’s great to be back!
MOTOAMERICA As soon as racing commences Stateside, America’s top road racing talent will go head to head yet again for bragging rights as best in the US in the upcoming MotoAmerica Championship season, and HJC will be there every step of the way with former Superbike champ Toni Elias leading the charge along with six other HJC sponsored riders contending for championships across five different classes. We’ll see you at the track!

Looking back, you’ve had an amazing career and competed on FMX’s largest stages where you’ve enjoyed a lot of success. Where in your career are you now? Thank you for the kind words! It’s been a great time. Since my earliest memories as a young boy, I wanted to be a professional dirt biker. I grew up and made that dream a reality. To still be doing it at 35 years old, I view that as one of my biggest career accomplishments. I’m really just riding for fun, staying relevant in the sport, and keeping close to my fans, followers, and sponsors. I really owe my career to them. Without fans and sponsors, we riders are just perfecting a hobby. 20

A lot of us out there probably didn’t wear helmets on our BMX bikes growing up, but motocross athletes take safety pretty seriously, and we never see your boys without our youth CL-XY II off-road helmets. How do they like wearing them? So true! I rarely wore a helmet riding BMX when I was a kid, so stupid of me! My boys love their helmets, and for a good reason too: They’ve already had some pretty big crashes and dinged up their helmets. Since they started riding, the boys have worn their CL-XY helmets every time, but after seeing the helmets get chips taken out of them and scratched up from their crashes, I made the decision that is absolutely the rule. No exceptions! They know they wear a helmet when they ride, and whenever we go to track or parks, they always get compliments on their helmets. That makes me feel like they’re pretty cool [laughs]. X Games 2036… will there be two new HJC FMX athletes with Adams on the back of their jerseys? We’ll see [laughs]! If in 10 years I’m posting about building an all-new FMX course, foam pit, and air bag, odds are good that you’ll be seeing the Adams twins at X Games 2036. :) You make a great product, HJC. Your adult and kids helmets are top-notch. I wouldn’t want to ride in any other helmet. Thank you for including me on the team :)
