Remembrance activities to mark the 10th anniversary of the passing of Zhao Ziyang This year marks the 10th year since the passing of Zhao Ziyang. To pay our respect to this honorable man, who dared to make a stance against the conservatives and who refused to use force against the students, (The Alliance) is organizing a range of activities:

1. “The Thematic Exhibition of Zhao Ziyang” at “June 4th Museum” and Condolence Book Date: January 4th, 2015 (Sunday) to January 17th, 2015 (Saturday)

Time: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday) 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. (Saturday and Sunday) Venue: June 4th Museum-­‐ 5/F Foo Hoo Centre, 3 Austin Avenue, Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong 1. Signing condolence book: display pictures of Zhao Ziyang, summary of Zhao Ziyang’s life, and condolence book (Citizens are welcome to sign at the museum). 2. Thematic exhibition of Zhao Ziyang: thematic exhibition, small book fair, videos, etc.

2. Signing of Condolence Book on the Street 2.1 January 11th, 2015: 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.: Outside of The Goldmark in Causeway Bay 2.2 January 13th, 2015: 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.: Outside of China Building in Central

3. 10th Anniversary of Zhao Ziyang’s Death Commemoration and Seminar (Jointly run with Contemporary China Research Project, City University of Hong Kong)

Date: January 17th, 2015 (Saturday) Time: 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Venue: LT-­‐18 Lecture Theatre, Academic 1, City University of Hong Kong Content: 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.: Open to public to attend the exhibition and sign the condolence book 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.: Seminar. Speakers include: Professor Joseph Yu-­‐shek Cheng, JP (Chair Professor of Political Science at City University of Hong Kong), Mr. Willy Wo-­‐Lap Lam (Journalist and commentator on China Affairs based in Hong Kong, ex-­‐deputy editor for South China Morning Post), Mr. Ching Cheong (Senior journalist), Mr. Albert Chun-­‐yan Ho (Chairman of the Hong Kong Alliance in Support of Patriotic Democratic Movements of China). Hong Kong Alliance in Support of Patriotic Democratic Movements of China appeals those Hong Kong citizens, China citizens, and everyone who is concerned about the development of democracy in China, to actively participate in the events listed, to commemorate Mr. Zhao Ziyang and jointly reflect on China’s future.
