The HKFYG Jockey Club School of Global Leadership Global Seminar 2021
2
RISEN, ALIGNED, GLOBALISED. Organised by The HKFYG Leadership Institute and funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, the Global Seminar — New Leadership, Globalisation and Personal Elevation — aims to bring together leaders from across communities to strengthen self-capacity under a new leadership within organisations and communities. In collaboration with The Aspen Institute, we are introducing the firstever virtual global seminar to connect 30 trisector experts for cross-field collaboration amidst a global downturn due to the COVID-19 pandemic and scepticism around globalisation. Following the Global Seminar with the theme of Leadership for Inclusive Futures in Asia in 2019, the 2021 programme centres around globalisation in the post-pandemic world, with the purpose to prepare business and social impact leaders to adapt to new challenges through difficult times. To strengthen a moral anchor while raising personal and team capacity for adaptation to embrace uncertainties has become a virtue of necessity. The global environment has also presented new interests for leaders to understand and align values from individuals of different backgrounds.
Launching in March 2021, the highly selective programme equips participants for the individual, organisational and social challenges of the next decade, even century, from a global perspective with an innovative, socially responsible spirit. Hong Kong’s rising talents across the public, private and civil society sectors are encouraged to learn, grow and co-create impact with us through a threepart journey that consists of a pre-seminar induction, an intensive six-day virtual executive leadership seminar and a post-seminar engagement. We invite tri-sector leaders as well as expert moderators from the region and around the world to conduct the seminar. Incorporating The Aspen Method of Leadership Development, the Global Seminar is a dynamic dialogue experience among participants mediated by moderators, coupled with speaker events and e-networking opportunities. With the right tools to sharpen self-awareness, authenticity, and decision-making skills, as well as foster a deep understanding of values to find common ground in differences, this seminar offers a one-way ticket to your next level of leadership.
